Winner Of The Perfect Bike Short Search!
My daughter is ULTRA picky and sensory sensitive about certain articles of clothing. The bike shorts she needs to wear under her school uniform being one of those articles of clothing. So this year we could order uniforms from Lands End but I didn't order enough bike shorts (which she did like!) and of course they sold out so here I am on Amazon looking for bike shorts and praying she'll like them so we can all get dressed in peace in the morning versus the meltdown that will ensue with "hated" bike shorts.City Threads is coming through for us! We just had success with their undies this past week and now we have bike short success as well - THANK YOU CITY THREADS!! My daughter is on the thinner side, she's 9 and weighs 53 lbs. She can still wear a size 8 in Gymboree clothing but I ordered a size 10 thinking slightly bigger might be better and although they're a little baggy on her - they're not hanging off her by any means - they're just a little looser in the leg and seat and she likes them that way. The shorts are super comfortable, they're soft lightweight cotton, they hit above the knee and I like that they have a great color selection to choose from so she can mix and match with her various uniforms. I think that helps her feel like she has some control over her wardrobe even if she is having to wear a uniform everyday. From the photos you can see that there is a tag although for my sensory child this tag doesn't seem to be an issue - it may be for other children. I bought the white, light pink and navy blue and although the material is lightweight you can't see through the white - although you might see white undies under them - I'm not sure as we haven't tried this combo yet. I wouldn't worry about it with other colors though.I ordered several bike shorts from other companies in our search for the perfect bike short and we only had success with these. I highly recommend - this is where we'll be coming in the future for our school uniform bike shorts and any other bike short needs!

Great quality shorts in beautiful colors.
These shorts are great because they seem to be a good fabric that will stand up to an active kid. They are thick enough to wear a shorts with a top without being able to see through them. The material is soft and comfortable and the color are beautiful. We purchased one in almost every color. I sized up to size eight because I was things in hot and dry on high. My Daughter is turning eight in a month she is 48 inches and 48 pounds the size eight is a bit loose but she has room to grow or fit if they shrink a little.

Order 2 pair and will definitely be ordering more! They are nice and soft with just enough stretch to provide a perfect fit! After washing they came out of the laundry looking brand new. I line dried rather than putting them in the dryer simply because that is what I do with most clothing other than towels and blue jeans. However, I feel certain they would do fine in the dryer. I washed them in the evening and they were completely dry by morning.

Fits great! Looks great!
My daughter has hypermobility in her joints/hands, so things like buttons and snaps are very difficult for her. I found these in hopes to use them as school uniform shorts. They are perfect! She can pull them up and down with no issues. They are thick enough that they look like regular shorts and not tights. I bought some more!

Great shorts. Skinny girls size down.
I bought these as practice volleyball shorts for my 8 and 9 year olds. The shorts are very well made and will suit the purpose well! I hope my review may help someone with sizing. My girls are both very tall and thin, typically wearing size 10 and 12 in slim jeans (which still seem to be baggy at times.) My girls have tiny waists and bums, so I sized down from their normal pants size, and bought sizes 8 and 10. I saw several reviews that say that these run small...I tend to disagree. For my thin girls, even a size down was rather baggy. I put them on high in the dryer, and that succeeded in shrinking them a little, but they are still rather generous on them. If you are looking for bike/volleyball shorts and your daughters are very thin, I would recommend sizing down either one or maybe even two sizes.

Just right at last!
These are super soft and come in a wonderful variety of colors and sizes. I bought the navy, black, and purple and was very pleased. My daughter is hard to please with bike shorts. She does not want them to feel binding but too loose is bad too. I swear it is like Goldilocks's porridge! Fortunately these are just right!

Love that it is made in America
Love that it is made in America!! Great quality, great fit. My daughter is in between a 2 and a 3, so I ordered a 3 for longer wear. The shorts are a bit big, but fit just like the other 3T pieces I've bought her. The material is soft, but durable. I've already washed them once and they show no signs of fading. The leg length is great to wear under dresses and skirts.

Beware - sizes vary widely
The sizing quality control of these items is terrible. I ordered 3 pair in 18-24 month size (different colors). The pink pair was 3/4" wider than the purple pair, which was 3/4" wider than the teal pair. You can see in the picture how much of a difference there is in the waistband size between the largest and smallest I received. I would say the purple pair I got was actually the typical 18-24 month size. So when ordering, consider that the pair you get might be a size or two too big or too small.Other than that, the colors were vivid and true to the pictures. And the fabric was nice.
