Great deal, great drives
Bought 2. The drives were individually packed and sealed in electrostatic bag.No signs of use, so externally like new. They were used for 6.5 years based on S.M.A.R.T log, no errors in the log (i don't know if those can be cleared) max temp on one was 61'C and 48'C on the other. Did read only scan using badblacks software and no errors reported. I think it's a good deal, they are silent, you can hear the head moves but the spin is silent. I think (personal philosophy) that is better to buy used high quality enterprise grade drive than cheap brand new of general user one from last say Seagate. Those are Japanese designed, made in Thailand. The SMART also reported 100% helium.

Robust Storage with a Few Caveats
I've been using the HGST WD Ultrastar DC HC530 14TB Data Center HDD (Renewed) for a few months now, and here's my honest take on it.Pros:Massive Storage: With 14TB of space, this drive can handle an impressive amount of data. Whether you're running a data center or just need a ton of personal storage, this HDD has got you covered.Performance: The 6Gb/s SATA interface provides solid data transfer speeds. I've noticed that large file transfers and backups are relatively quick, which is crucial for my needs.Reliability: Despite being a renewed product, it has been running smoothly without any hiccups. The HGST brand has a good reputation for durability and reliability, and this drive lives up to that standard.Cons:Noise Level: This HDD is a bit noisier than I'd like. During heavy read/write operations, there's a noticeable hum. It's not a deal-breaker, but if you're sensitive to noise, it might be something to consider.Heat Generation: It does run a bit warm. I've had to ensure proper ventilation in my setup to avoid overheating issues. Investing in a good cooling system might be a good idea if you plan to use this drive extensively.Renewed Product: While mine has been working fine, there's always a bit of a gamble with renewed products. Make sure to check the seller's return policy just in case.Overall, the HGST WD Ultrastar DC HC530 14TB HDD offers excellent value for its storage capacity and performance. It's especially great if you're on a budget and need a high-capacity solution. Just keep in mind the potential for noise and heat, and you should be good to go!

A short, sad life.
When I plugged in the power and it began to spin up, I noticed a good bit of noise which soon turned into a grinding sound just before it spun down and went silent. If I hold it up to my ear I can hear a faint clicking, but still I think the poor thing is a goner. So sad. I like the price and the capacity is great, but when I started the return process and Amazon asked if I wanted another one just like it or a refund, I opted for the refund. Still trying to decide whether to give it another go or spend some extra money on a drive that is not “renewed.”

Zero hours on each drive
Drives work perfectly. I checked the drives and they were officially refurbished drives with zero hours at time of install. Will update if something ends up going wrong with the drives but so far so good.

Died in only 5 months.
Died in only 5 months. Web-site says it's out of warrantee, so I guess the 2 year warrantee statement was marketing fiction.UPDATE: The manufacturer will NOT help you here. The vendor will, and you have to contact them through Amazon. They actually ARE responsive. I'm updating this review to reflect that (4 stars for their responsiveness)

High power on hours, low power cycle count
Just picked up two of these from Server Parts Deals, and would like to give the drives 4.5 stars, but since I can't I'll round it up to 5. Only reason, as of now, that I would knock off a half a star would be because the two I received had over 28 thousand power on hours. But I bought renewed, so what did I expect, right? At least that tells me that these drives ran a long time with no issues. Crystal Disk Info also showed relatively low Power Cycle Counts of less than 20 each and no bad sectors. Price was good at the time, so when the time comes for me to pick up a few more, I wouldn't hesitate.
