Always slow, eventually died
Bought this for file backup in my media server. Worked ok but was slow reading/writing from the start. After a few months it seemed to get slower. About a year after installing it started clicking and grinding. Luckily I was able to grab my wifes pics before it completely failed but lost all of my files. (I did fortunately have most of my stuff on my own pc so didn’t loose everything).I wouldn’t buy a renewed hdd again. I don’t blame the seller because they had no way of knowing how long it would last. In the end it’s not worth the gamble.

Perfect upgrade to my system.
Great value on this drive. Plenty of capacity, and only a little noise. Be sure you have a cable and mounting screws.

Both worked but...
I bought two of these MG03ACA400 drives. One worked for 250 hrs (it already had just under 200 hours, which didn't bother me) and died in the NAS. I replaced an old WD green that has over 27.000 hours of service with this MG03ACA400 . That green drive is back in service. I've ordered two new replacement drives one for the failed drive and one as a spare for the other drive. The other is still working but for how long? The manufacturer claims 1.4 million hours average time between failures yet 450 hours is a bit under that. The drive made a great deal of noise when it destroyed itself which alerted me to the problem before I saw that the NAS had flagged it failed.I will not buy these again.

Failed soon after installed.
Good price, packaged in bubble wrap, and 4tb is a good amount of storage. I bought 2 of these, one failed within a few days of use, the other was taken out as it's showing signs that it's about to quit as well. I'll buy new ones next time, not worth saving a few bucks for hard drives that won't last.
