Limited edition gray and white colored vinyl LP pressing. Formed in Antarctica in 1984 by manager Sleazy P. Martini, Earth's favorite interplanetary warriors have forged a path of debauchery for over 30 years. GWAR's mythology is rich in political and social satire and their cult-following is galvanized by their controversial, indefatigable and ostentatious live performances, where crowds of willing slaves are subjected to ripe humor and theatrical imagery... and lots and lots of blood, vomit and other bodily fluids. Available for the first time on vinyl 1995's RagNaRok is GWAR's conceptual fifth studio effort about the end of the world. Home to the equally outlandish and entertaining numbers "The New Plague," "RagNaRok," "Think You Outta Know This" and "Fire in the Loins".Originally released in 1995, “Ragnarok” is GWAR’s 5th studio album. Available for the first time as Gray & White Marble Colored Vinyl and limited to 1000 copies.FEATURES:Available for the first time as GRAY & WHITE MARBLED vinylLimited to 1,000 units WORLDWIDE Limited!GWAR’s 5th studio albumOriginally released in 1995GWAR -- RAGNARÖK Vinyl LP

If you hate yourself, ignore this album.
This is the quintessential GWAR album. No, strike that, this is the epitome of metal itself. This album is about how a giant meteorite ( not to be confused with an asteroid or meteor, which typically do not strike this hell in which GWAR suffers) strikes this hell in which GWAR suffers upon. (Read: Earth)Just google meat sandwich if you like to have your eyes assploded with awesome.

The disc sounds great! No problem there
Limited to 1000 copies on gray vinyl. The disc sounds great! No problem there. But the cover reproduction is kinda yucko fuzzy. The gatefold opens up to the original cd lyrics sheet reprinted (nice and clean, unlike the cover) on 18 panels. Doesn't sound like it was remixed or remastered, and there's no liner notes to that effect. Eh. Seems kind of like a Metal Blade money grab instead of something really for the fans, but I will always support Metal Blade and GWAR anyway.

Exciting, varied and amusing
Great album. Really diverse and the best way to describe this gem is what would happen if elements of metal, hardcore punk and Frank Zappa were brought to make an album together. The lyricism is some of the best in the GWAR catalogue and with different vocalists, it is the most interesting. There are playful nods / send ups of surf rock, rap n' roll but throughout this record mostly goes in the opposite direction in terms of expectations. At the time of Ragnarok's release, Fear Factory and brutal death metal were in the ascendant. This is GWAR finding their place in 1995 and as a work of art it still sounds relevant today.
