Q: Will this work good for suction? Trying to put in my duct/pole barn to suck out fumes & smoke.

I would say yes as the move a lot of air. You will however need to channel the exhaust air out of the building through an opening in similar size to the fan outlet to create a negative pressure air space

Sorry, i cannot answer your question accurately. but i can help you on the advice. the fan does 4,000 cfm on the High setting. your room is roughly 1600 sq ft. your height of your basement will give you the accurate amount of Cubic feet your total basement has.
