We love this cake so much, we're having it for every birthday and this year even as our Christmas cake xD So juicy and tasty. Best with some good quality spray cream.

My husband loves rum cake and will enjoy it soon.

Wonderful cake. Taste of home

From the moment you open the vacuum packed bag and the incredibly delicious smell hits your nostrils, to the first bite, to the last bit, the cake is just wonderful. It keeps well, is lovely and moist, with a perfect sponge and very authentic Caribbean flavours. It is a bit pricy but finding a cake of this quality and flavour is very hard to find so the price is worth.

The Tortuga Rum cake was one of the highlights of my Christmas this year. After cancelling my holiday because of covid restructions, I've spent Christmas enjoying the festive food, such as the Tortuga cake. This particular recipe delivers the Caribbean flavours on a plate: the delicious smell of vanilla and Rum flavours is a celebretion in a room. This cake is moist, light and really tasty, also good value for money so ideal to share with good friends or to offer as gift. I'm so glad to have tasted the Tortuga Rum cake and I will recommend it to any cake lovers out there!

This cake is delicious according to my sister-in-law who received one last year and raved about how tasty and moist it is. So this year she is receiving another.

After we watched incessant ads for this cake while viewing a college basketball tournament that took place in the Cayman Islands, I ordered one as a gag gift for my husband. It turned out this cake was no joke. Inside the box, the cake is shrink-wrapped in heavy duty plastic that keeps it moist and fresh. The sponge-type cake is tender and soaked in sugary and rum-y tastiness. It was a dessert hit at our holiday meals. As long as you don't dislike the flavor of rum, I think you'll find this cake as delicious as we did.

Agree fully with all other reviews in that the cake was super, super moist. Didn't know the 'original gold' flavor came with little tiny bits of walnut in the cake--pleasant surprise. Just a few trace pieces on the outside, mind you, but still good. The issue, for me, was some kind of 'artificial' taste present in the cake. Cannot fully identify it, but perhaps in addition to actual rum they use some sort of artificial 'rum' flavoring? Or perhaps it's a side effect of it having to be made in a way that makes it possible to store for quite a while without refrigeration? Price was actually pretty reasonable--let's face it, it's more of a 'souvenir' cake than something you'd buy on a weekly basis from the local bakery. While the 16 oz box and appearance wasn't impressive in size, the richness of the cake made this last a week. Bottom line--great gift since the box looks adorable and can be stored for quite a while. For personal use? If you love moist and rum-flavored pastries, but aren't a snob about slight artificial flavors. But, would definitely, definitely say that if you brought this to a party on a platter, or served it in your own home, and tried to pass it off as 'home-made'--or even 'freshly made at the local bakery'--that wouldn't sound quite realistic.

The cake barely lasted an hour for this Christmas dinner. There was only about 1/16th of a slice left for me to try, haha
