I ordered the 5” dia., 3/32” (2.5 mm) eccentricity sander that claimed, in the listing, to consume only 4CFM of air. It actually had a 3/16” (5 mm) eccentricity and consumed a whopping 16 CFM’s. That means that almost no single stage compressor and many two stage ones would not be able to keep up with the needed air supply. If you have a massive compressor, it does run smoothly, seems well built and is lightweight.

I was very skeptical about buying this 5 inch sander. The reviews seemed pretty good and the few that gave it a bad rating looked a little fishy to me. I am impressed about the smooth action, the 5 inch pad versus a 6 inch pad and it is lightweight so you can use it with one hand. The American made national Detroit DA sander that this replaced requires two hands to operate, the 6” national Detroit that I have is made in the USA but cost over $250 to buy new. All in all I am very pleased with how well this product works for being made in China. Oh one last thing, some complained that it is noisy? Is there any pneumatic power tool out there that is not noisy? My American made national Detroit makes more noise than this little puppy.

I used this sander to do both wet and dry sanding operations, and I was pleasantly surprised at the ease of use and fast curling. I spent 12 hours over 2 days using this sander, wet sanding the bottom of my boat. I sanded the bottom paint off, along with the 40-grit swirl marks to a polished finish. I had no issue with the lower air volume from my single-stage 2 HP compressor (don't know what the CFM is.) I think this sander is a great value.Update: I now have over 150 hours on this sander, and it works great.

My valve components were poor quality. I assembled the hose attachment with some Teflon tape, but the machining was still off on one or two of the components which still led to some air leakage. Given the fact that this is the only mention of this in these reviews I have to assume it was just my copy. You may be just fine.

I have carpal tunnel pretty bad and I have to use power tools for my job so I am always looking for tools that have less vibration and this sander is great. I actually bought one of these for my husband and I was so impressed with it I decided to get myself one too. It doesn't vibrate like you might expect for a lower priced sander it is very smooth.

This sander is excellent, lite weight, stays flat on the surface, cuts and polish well. I should have had this sander long ago.It makes sanding very encouraging.

Very quiet. Works great. Had to get a different pad for adhesive disks but that's ok. Speed switch is on a bad spot, keeps getting hot while using but it's not that big a deal.

I've only used the item a few times, but so far it is just as good as DA sanders I've purchased for over $200. Time will only tell as to its longevity, but for the price, if it lasts more than 6 months, I'll be totally satisfied.
