Amazon Basics LED GU5.3 MR16 Spotlight Bulb, 4.5W (equivalent to 35W), Warm White, Non Dimmable - Pack of 2

Ordered 2 lots of GU5.3 led bulbs over the past week - to replace an existing one that stopped working. Neither of these orders worked in the kitchen ceiling light. Both times the bulbs turned on with the others, then died. I sent one lot back, but was too embarrassed to send the second lot, as I was embarrassed. I felt it must be me doing something wrong. In desperation I tried again, using these Amazon Basics bulbs; the cheapest I could find. Without much hope, I fitted the bulb in the socket and turned the switch. Voila, success! The bulb lit up, and stayed lit up. Well done Amazon.Looking up this problem on the internet, it seems when you change from halogen to led bulbs, you need a power transformer. Some bulbs, presumably these, have one built in. Who knew?

So far, so good. I'm not an electrician so I can only say that I installed these two LED lights in my bathroom and let there be light. They work well, no flickering and the quality of the light makes me happy (I'm saying this because not everyone could be happy with the same product, whatever the product is). The only missing bit is to see how long the lamps will last. However, for the price, even if they only last a year they would be a great buy.

I liked the price and speed of delivery.What I dislike is the juddering of the lights often.Though sometimes not so bad.

I love a warm, cosy light and always buy warm white LED's. Whilst these are absolutely fine in terms of brightness, the colour of these is very, very strange. Perhaps I got a rogue batch but after just 2 days I had to remove them as everyone has commented on my new 'yellow lights'.I have 2700k LEDs in every other room of my house but none look quite so buttercup yellow as these. I thought I was safe choosing an AmazonBasics product but I think I've learned my lesson the hard way. I've since replaced these with Aurora Enlite bulbs in the same temperature and they are absolutely lovely, the perfect warm white that I expected.

Although the price was reasonable, the bulbs occasionally flicker wildly or don't come on when the light is switched on!!

I have 21 MR16 down-lighters in my home, installed by the previous owner, all were running the old style 50 watt bulbs so as quite a few have recently come to the end of their life, I decided to start replacing them with more energy saving LED's. As AmazonBasics is a brand that I've come to trust over recent years I decided to go with these, I knew they were not the most expensive but neither were they the cheapest. I bought 2 only at first after reading some of the reviews I was worried about whether they would flicker due to inadequate transformers but I needn't have worried because fortunately they don't. They are lovely and bright with no flicker and they have really nice warm colour temperature, so not harsh on the eyes. I have now replaced the rest of my fittings with these bulbs and I am very satisfied.

I bought these to replace failed 12 volt Halogen lights in the bathroom. They work really well and use less electricity than halogen lamps.
