Excellent Flaring Tool For All Types of Brake Line.
I have owned this flaring tool for over a year. I have done multiple brake line replacements using both CuNi and steel lines as an automotive enthusiast. I replaced the entire brake line system on my Range Rover with a mix of steel and CuNi lines. I have seen a few complaints in the reviews about not being able to flare steel lines. I was having some trouble with the steel line as well. The line would slip in the die. Well I switched out the included tightening rod with a ratchet and correct size socket to tighten the die in the tool. Did a few test flares after tightening the steel lines in the die with my ratchet. Perfect double flares every time. The included tightening rod does not provide enough purchase to get good clamping force on the die to hold the steel line from slipping. I proceeded to complete flaring the remaining steel lines on my RR (some in place on the vehicle) using the ratchet to tighten the die in place. Perfect flares the first time and zero leaks. Also make sure that your brake line and die is clean to prevent slippage. This tool saved me a lot of time and aggravation while replacing brake lines. Full disclosure: I had purchased this tool from another well known specialty tool supplier.

If you flare brake lines you NEED this kit
I have flared brake lines for 26 years and only bought this kit in 2020. (it is Dec 2022 now) The only complaint I have is not owing this kit sooner.Better design than Mastercool (I own the Mastercool 72485 kit also. Mastgercool makes all the fuel and transmission fittings and is an excellent tool) SUR&R only does brake flaresIf you have trouble flaring a line it may help to cut it with a saw. Using a tubing cutter can work harden the line making it difficult/impossible to flare.

Wow, awesome tool, but expensive.
I loved this tool, but I was hesitant to get it because of the cost, after all I am not an auto mechanic and although I have several vehicles, I don't work on other people's cars (well, not often and I definitely don't get paid! lol). But I have dealt with other cheap flare kits in the past and they all mostly work ok, but not great and especially not great if the line is still installed on the vehicle. They are typically cheap tools that can make it hard to do consistent flares, especially if the line your working on is still installed and especially if it is "up" in the vehicle. This tool is like cheating, it is that easy. On the cheaper tools you would be smart to do a few "test" flares prior to doing one that matters, with this tool you can look at your first one and at your tenth one and they will all look perfect. Truthfully I wish I had more brake lines to work on, this makes it so easy.

Will not flare steel line
I don't normally write reviews, but I felt it was important to let other know that it won't flare steel lines because they failed to put serrated teeth to hold the line in the die. The 5/16 and 3/8 th's has them like all other flaring tools made has. I called the company and asked why the 3/16 and 1/4 does not and they did say others have had problems with that also and could try different line. (Thats hard to do when you want to repair a section on the car) They also said they would be coming out with a proper redesign replacement but couldn't give me an exact date. It does work on nicopp line fine. I am a professional mechanic with 45 years' experience. You would never think they would make it like that. Just a waste of money and then you will have to buy the corrected dies to use it as it should have been designed. Do yourself a big favor and just buy the Master cool set, it works great.

Quality Product - Works Amazingly Well
The quality of this tool far outweighs the price; well worth the money. Saved me a lot of money compared to having the shop replace the brake lines on my Subaru. It makes perfect double flares with the greatest of ease. It makes a normally unpleasant job, a breeze to do. I absolutely love this tool kit!

so easy to use
I have the mastercool flaring tool which works fine but the sur&r tool is a lot easier to use and it makes perfect flares everytime it is my go to flare tool as the before mentioned tool sits on the shelf and has not been used since I got the sur&r imo a much better tool

Great tool. Worth the price!
I am a garage DIY'r. Brake lines rusted thru on my commuter car after 15 years in MN weather. A local garage estimate was $300 for new rear lines. I couldn't fin/buy pre-bent lines. I know this tool is very pricey but I went from never replacing brake lines or flaring to making perfect flares. Brakes work great woth no leaks. I definitely saved myself money. Worth the investment.

Easy to use, produces high quality flares in minutes
Best tool I didnt know they made. Doing break lines a few times a year I've never seen a reason to look for something other than the common flare tool but mine broke and dads new one was leaving deep grooves. I kept thinking there has to be something better. I found it and this is 100 times better. The plastic case does let the dies roll around but I found some pillow type foam 1/2" thick and hot glued it to the top to hold everything in place. I can see ill be doing more break lines for family and friends now.
