Charley Harper the Animal Kingdom Book of Postcards

The designs are great - fun and quirky, but it is the quality of the postcard that made me give it only three stars. As described, the postcards come in a book, with perforated edges to tear out. I have never so much trouble with postcards before! I bent along the perforation, and gently pulled, with the first few coming out OK, but slightly bent, due to the flimsy "card"(more on that later), then, as I got further into the book, they started to tear and rip. As my daughter and I take part in the Postcrossing project, I like to scan them, so they are ready to upload when needed, but these damaged ones, I can't use, as they just look too awful to use ( I would use the word "tatty"); I ended up taking the book apart to try and minimise the damage.The card is actually thick shiny paper, which makes me think how it will survive a journey through the UK inland mail, never mind to the other side of the world. A real disappointment, as the designs deserve better quality and won't be buying again, unless the publisher has a radical re-think about this product, as I would happily pay more for these in a box, printed on proper card like the Penguin, Puffin, and Ladybird ones.

Beautiful little postcard book. I've already got a lot in frames in my craft room and just love to be able to see them. Perfect item.

These are absolutely beautiful images, and the card is very good quality. Calling them oversized is a bit of an exaggeration though, as they are only slightly bigger than a small postcard. Another reason for less than 5 stars is that both sides of every card is laminated making it quite difficult to write on the back in most ink pens. I will likely end up using these as wall art as they are stunning images.

I love postcards - and these are great! If you love animals and art design - these are for you. They come in a book with a perforated edge so you can rip out the postcards as and when you need them. Just be careful as I damaged one by ripping it at a funny angle! Other than that - brilliant!

Kept its promises. Full of wonderful drawing. Can be bored at looking at them. The all family loves these images. And you don't have - as often the case - half of the postcards so ugly that you wouldn't dare to sent them. May re-order one for my child party's invitations.

Like all Pomegranate postcard books, both print quality and paper quality are very poor! It's like some 80 dpi images printed on some glossy, flimsy paper (it's not even a "card"). The cards are not standard A6 size as well.I am a postcrosser. Even thick postcards reach me in a very bad state sometimes. I cannot imagine what this "card" will look like when it reaches another person on the other side of the world.I have many postcard books but Pomegranate books are certainly the worst out of them all. Stay away!

I love Charley Harper and this selection of his cards will be making their way across the globe in my Postcrossing hobby. Lovely cards, arrived in good time well packaged.

Again, I'm a charley harper fan, so this is just a booklet with postcards of some of his images - lovely, and make a nice gift.
