I've purchased this for myself, and it's great. It also made a nice thank you gift, when I returned a plate a Jordanian family had sent some great food on.

After an initial mixup, package finally arrived. Saffron is a very vital spice. It is the stuff of legend. There are many sources for saffron and many of those are not all legit. This is decent kesar. Good aroma, good pistel length and great packaging. I will order more.

So far I like this saffron. Its seems to be the real deal. The smell is very pungent. I read that saffron scent is suppose to smell sweet(for the most part), but this does have that plastic smell that everyone else talks about, but it doesn't come off in the water/tea. A little goes a long way. I used 3 tiny sprigs and made a 4 oz. tea that is very tasty. Looking forward to reaping the many health benefits that saffron is said to have. I also did the water test. Real saffron is said to take a while for the golden color to leech into the water and it definitely took its time. Fake saffron releases color immediately, so I am happy about getting the real deal. I also love how they include instructions on how to use it which is a plus! I definitely recommend.

This is excellent Persian saffron and a good value also. It works so well in custard turning a dessert that is usually bland into one that is exotic!

The saffron seem to be dried petals of saffron flowers . Last time I bought Afghani saffron it becomes powder on crushing but this one becomes mushy like crushing green leaves . Not buying any more from this vendor
