Love it as a small gauge loom!
This is my first loom of this type so I'm unsure if other looms of this interchangeable type are like this, so I'll describe what was new to me and what I found a little difficult for those that are new to this type of loom too. There's an inset type of button that's flush along the underside of the loom that you push to help release the inserts that you put together to make the various sizes. It's a little hard to push, but I find that if you push and gently wiggle the inserts slightly it helps to break it down into it's components. The pegs that aren't removable are colored white, and the pegs which you can add to make the small gauge are colored gray, so it helps as a little bit of contrast. The removable gray pegs can be pretty rough on your fingers to insert and pull out tho. What I used to help with this was a flat leather cord that was about as wide as the peg. To insert the peg I put the peg in as far as I could then letting the leather hang over both sides of the peg I put one side of the leather into each hand and I gently pulled till the peg snapped into the loom. To remove the peg I wrapped and twisted the leather cord around the peg and pulled. I had a spool of this so not everyone may have this, but it's similar to this product ( LolliBeads (TM) 3mm Flat Genuine Leather Cord Braiding String Dark Brown Espresso (5 Yards) ). But what helped I think was that it gripped, so possibly using something rubberized and strong might help to pull out the pegs.I found it a little slow going doing the large gauge as I had to put my finger behind each of the plastic pegs as I was working on the project so I wouldn't accidentally snap it or break it, but it seems to only feel brittle when using 2 yarns as one.Overall tho I really do like this loom! I really love it when you use it for small gauge projects, it's perfect for using 1 yarn instead of having to use 2 yarns as one. For me I'm keeping this as a small gauge loom and using other circle looms as the large gauge. What surprised me was how easy the yarn slides off when using a hook even though I'm a tight knitter. So it was a great little surprise since it helped my projects feel like they went faster plus helped ease my hands from hurting since I didn't have to grip so hard to pull the yarn over the peg. The pegs are a bit rounded at the top but it's not notched or grooved like the Boye brand circle looms, which I'm thankful for as the Boye pegs are a little more time consuming for me.

A couple of issues.
I had high expectations for this loom & waited for it to be delivered with giddy anticipation! When it arrived, I must say that I was a little disappointed. First - the good news! The flexibility in sizing is great. I found that I was able to put it together (the pieces fit firmly & securely to one another) and take it apart fairly easily. I also found the idea of being able to add pegs as a brilliant one! However, this is also where my first issue comes in - about a quarter of the additional pegs that I received wouldn't snap into the loom securely like they should. Can I still jam them in there & use them? - probably. But if you use a loom regularly, you know how inconvenient it can be to have your pegs popping out in the middle of a project. The other issue that I have is that while everything fits together nice & securely - the overall feel of the loom is that it's a little flimsy (at least in comparison to the large round plastic loom that I was looking to replace). It's not going to fall apart or break, but I'd prefer something a little more sturdy.

Try something else
The loom hurt my fingers. This loom took me twice as long as other looms I've tried. Didn't come with clear instructions for set up.

Not a good first loom
This was the first loom that I purchased and I had to return it because I broke it the first time I tried to use it. I ended buying a much sturdier set from Michaels. This might be good for a seasoned loomer, but definitely not good for a first timer.

Would highly recommend
Arrived 2 days early. Love that it's adjustable and pegs stay firmly in place. Feels quite sturdy and durable even though it's very light. Feels good while holding. Comes to you in large gauge setting...took almost no time to add in extra pegs to convert to small gauge loom. Was happy that it came with 5 extra pegs beyond what it takes to fill...list pieces could be a pain but the extra pieces will come in handy.

Awesome!!!
I love it. The pegs fit in very snug and do not come off when knitting. This loom has the tighter gauge which is perfect for the dishcloths. I am really enjoying using this loom for all my projects.
