Extremely good book for learning and practicing thrashy riffs
I have every single book by Troy and damn is this man amazing! This is an extremely good book for learning and practicing thrashy riffs. It goes from very easy to all of a sudden punching-your-face kind of riffs.I just wish the audio examples had been recorded in slow/medium/fast tempos. Most of the examples are extremely fast and this makes the audio files almost unusable.Overall, I definitely recommend this to any metal guitarist for sure.Cheers! \m/Update 04/12/2018: One huge flaw of this book is that it does not mention how fast each example has been played. So, when I am trying to use a metronome and get close to the example's speed, I have no idea what the target is. I really don't understand how a well-educated amazing teacher like Troy has missed this. For this reason, I am changing my rating from 5 to 4 stars.

Aggressive and In Your Face
Thrash Metal is my favorite genre of music and this book and it's audio tracks really helped me improve my skill in Thrash Metal Guitar. The exercises are aggressive just as the genre is meant to be and it will definitely give you a start if you are wanting to pursue this genre of Heavy Metal.

Perfect road to master metal
Excellent book for mastering the challenging world of thrash metal! I have all of Troy's books which are quite excellent and clearly written. This book is great since it summarizes his other books as review plus new material specific to bands like Metallica and Slayer. I do wish the online audio files allowed one to slow the tempo down since they are quite wicked fast.

I have several of his books. You can buy just one of his and stay with it as there is always a lot of information. I tend to jump from book to book and get nuggets from each. I have a thick head when it comes to music theory but he seems to be getting some of it into my brain. His songs are easier to play along than some that use delay if you are following the tablature. Detailed in that he shows you the up and downs of striking the notes.

A rare gem!
I have several of Troy Stetina's books and like the others, Thrash Guitar Method does not disappoint. Troy provides an in depth study of thrash metal and includes full songs that you can learn to play note for note. I do wish that some of the examples could have been played at half speed to make them easier to learn, since it does get pretty fast sometimes. Overall, this is a great book and I've learned a lot from it.
