Long Lasting Printer
I have had this printer for 8 years and it still functions as good as the day I got it, I cannot say much about it's wireless connectivity as I've never used it since I have a lot of things that might interfere with that signal so I usually keep it hooked up to my PC. It's easy to set up and the print quality is good as long as you adjust your settings and use good paper. It's pretty durable as it has survived several moves, there are plenty of videos on YouTube if you run into any issues with your printer. For printer jams specifically, there are two methods to remove the paper, one is opening the front tray and yanking it out that way but the easier method is opening the back which has an arrow that tells you how to open it. To clean the rollers you want to do sparingly, but if you're having issues with the paper feed (not picking up or picking up too much) it might be good to clean it. There is a YouTube video online by the username Helen spuddulike that you can look at for an easier method of cleaning the roller that helps a lot. It has saved my printer many times and most likely will continue to keep it running. Also do NOT keep it on all the time, only turn it on when you want to use it. This saves not only ink but might also solve some connectivity issues so you're only turning it on when your computer is on. The scanning function also works alright, I don't think it's the best for artwork but if you're on a budget and can't afford better then you can solve most of that by adjusting images in software editors. Again this printer has lasted me 8 years going on 9 and probably further. It's a GOOD printer, especially on a budget. Despite the negative reviews, if you don't have a lot of money and need a printer for stuff at home for work or school this is a pretty good choice. I have a picture of my printer and an example of print quality as I use it to print out images for journaling/scrapbooking. I don't have any examples of photos but I imagine it's pretty good as long as it's not plain paper and you print on photo paper with the right settings. Take care of your machines and it'll last quite a long time.

so happy i got this
i was hesitant to buy a printer but happy i went with this one. it was pretty straight forward to set it up. read the instructions, downloaded their print app to my ipad and was able to connect & print within 30 mins of setting it up. print quality is pretty nice. software seems simple enough and to work well with my apple products and bluetooth connectivity. printer itself seems to be built well, not super heavy either. scanner works well and is easy to use. haven’t ran out of ink yet, i’ve printed around 20+ pages mostly black ink. replacement ink is about 45$ for color and black on amazon. so happy with the red color i got too. overall happy with it after a month now, it was such a good price. seems like a great basic printer!

It worked for 5 weeks. My hubby who fixed computers in the 1970s was able to fix it YAY.
This was original review Feb 2025. Just because I have BA AA BS degrees in computer stuff doesn't mean I can hook up printers and other hardware...just saying. Last year I got 3 different printers before I got one to work. This year that one ran out of ink - I thought it would be no big deal to change the ink. AH HA - nope. What a waste of money. It shall remain nameless but rhymes with mother. It may have been the Canadian version - but it sent to Florida and printed English... I got this cute little red $49 Cannon printer and I am VERY GLAD I kept the hard wire connector wire from the old printer because it was not included and I am not ready to connect to my phone (I am in a rural area so the cell coverage is weak.) The directions were clear, it warned me if you hard wire connect to your computer you probably won't be able to wi-fi connect and sure enough it didn't do it. But IT PRINTED a document in less than an hour from out of the box! Then I printed a color document and it looks great also! I am so impressed by this great Canon printer. WOW. I will update if it gets wonky, someone said the initial ink supply is very small so I also bought the replacement ink cartridges. I only took one star off because I had to supply the connection cable that used to come with peripheral devices back in the olden days. This is so inexpensive I might buy another one just to connect via wi-fi. Very happy customer. A week later and I am still happy! It prints, text looks great! NOW IT IS FEB 15 AND ONE PIECE OF PAPER GOT STUCK! It is trash! I cannot remove the paper and cannot return the printer. Every time the electricity does a power flex (and we live in the country rural so it does it at least weekly) the printer forgets how it's connected. BIG NOTE IF YOU CONNECT IT VIA WI-FI YOU CANNOT CONNECT IT DIRECTLY TO YOUR PRINTER, IT WILL NOT PRINT. WHEN THE POWER GOOFS UP, IT RESETS THAT and quits printing. I wish I had paid more attention to the other owner review that said this has problems. THAT IS THE UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE CENTURY. I am 30 miles from a print source - or I can do sneaker net to my husbands ratty old HP printer he got from me when i was fed up with their pirate ink service. This is probably a lousy boat anchor too! The internet was no help either. Hubby used to fix computers, and build printers, he pressed some latches on the bottom feed tray and get the torn piece of paper out. The print quality is still shabby, but I am tired of buying poor quality printers or ones that hyjack you for ink.

Connection failures
Great quality but hard to connect to the Wi-Fi or use direct connect on most devices. Was only able to set up in my phone. Failure on all my windows devices.

Does the job and bargain priced
I've been very pleased with this purchase. It replaced a similar older model and is working well. Installation was a breeze, and it connected to my wifi easily. With the downloadable Canon app, scanning is a breeze. I saw a video online which gave directions such as "Press this button, press that button, hit x 3 times, press more buttons..." and I couldn't belive how many steps it gave to scan. But with the app, you just hit "scan" and it scans. The app connected quickly to this model. I've read that printing is very slow, but printing in black is quite fast. I've also been happy with how easily it prints saved documents stored on my phone via wifi from the living room to the office without me having to go to the printer each time. All my documents whether printed, scanned, or copied, have come out crisp and legible. The nice red color and the light weight is a plus. The only slight downside is that installing the cartridges is physically more difficult than earlier models, but this is not a deal breaker, and most users probably won't be bothered by this. Seniors like myself will probably find it a minor inconvenience.

Good for the price
This printer is cute! I really like the red color lol It is shiny but it can get dusty if you're not good about cleaning regularly. I bought this to print stuff for work while I'm in quarantine and so far it has done the job. Cloud print can be tricky at times (you have to turn the printer on before you want to print if it's been idle for a while) and sometimes it completely stops printing without finishing the job. People this will be good for: a college student that's to lazy to go to the library to print (a few things here and there), an actor that needs resumes & sides printed quickly, anybody that needs a boarding pass or concert ticket right away (like you'll be doing those things anytime soon). People this WILL NOT work for: anyone who does any kind high volume printing. Also , the ink that comes with it runs out pretty quickly; I haven't printed 100 pages and the ink is running low. That being said, I have no reasons to return so I will keep it until it stops working, which hopefully will not be for a while.

So far, so good
Update- This printer is a rattletrap. Very cheaply made, the front door won't stay closed. So far it has eaten most of the paper I've fed into it and has taken me quite a bit of searching online how to get it unjammed. When it works it is lovely. When it's bad its very, very bad. I'll use it for another couple of weeks and then if it hasn't straightened up I'll return it. Original review. I ordered the Red MG3620 Canon Pixma printer. It is a pretty red except the top is a not so pretty brownish red. Why? Just why. Set up was easy enough with a USB cable but here are some things to know. 1. I ordered the printer alone (59.) yet it came with ink. I almost ordered the "Printer+ink" for 114.00 but found ink cheaper elsewhere and THEN it came with ink anyway. It would have been nice to know. 2. There was tape and some packing material stuck inside the printer near the ink slide bar that was in pretty tight and I was afraid I would break something if I pulled it out so I waited to get it out until I turned on the machine thinking it would be easier. No mention of how to remove without damaging the unit. When I plugged it in and turned on the printer the slide bar moved and it sounded pretty bad. I had to yank out the tape etc. to stop the awful sounds. It printed fine later so fingers crossed there. 3. I had to watch a Youtube video on putting in the ink cartridges which was fine but odd that there was no mention in the instructions. 4. Ditto on how the paper is inserted. The video I watched showed several little swing-out paper holder/guides for outcoming paper. This comment is for those saying the paper falls on the floor. 5. At first the computer could not seem to find the printer and I realized the printer was not turned back on but it WAS connected with a RED USB cable that I bought on Amazon. Very snazzy with my red printer. So I turned it on and my computer found and installed the printer very quickly and then I printed my 1 page book club meeting list which shot right out. It is very crisp and clean. I think the instructions that came with the printer are for a range of printers which may be why it does not have ink and paper loading instructions. Like I said I am happy so far. I have 2 Pixma Pro 9000 Mark II printers which have been work horses. Occasionally quirky but with Kenoungh (go see the Barbie movie) looking around online I have been able to find the sometimes weird work-arounds.
