We use this for our cat to get some greens in his diet. We plant two or three small pots with it at a time, and after he mows it down, chews it up, and generally smashes it in the pot, we plant more. The wheat grass sprouts and grows every time we replant the pots with it, by just putting the seeds in the dirt - no need to presoak it.

Grow it for my cats. Good quality seeds that are always fresh.

first time growing wheat grass (mainly for my Guinea Gig.. her name's Mimi... like the café) anyways if your planning on buying this and trying it for the first time go for it! There was plenty to make about eight, 6inch round grass patches (had a rotation) and still have some left over!! It was fun to watch it grow daily and my advise to you would be study up and videos are your "bible" for this! Oh and DONT OVERWATER...try not to get to trigger happy with your water mold is a nasty little bugger that tried to ruin my Wheat grass party on the first try!! I had tried to grow cat grass (that's who I bought this for) in the past with no luck. This stuff was great! Grew like crazy once it got started!!! I plant mine in a plastic shoe box (Walmart, Kmart - $1) and I put some rocks in the bottom for drainage and use Miracle Gro for the dirt. I think the most important part to this is soaking the seeds for at least 10 hours before you plant them. That seems to be the key to growing this and kept somewhat moist and in a sunny warm place, grows like a weed!!!! Should come with a little lawn mower cause it gets pretty long!!! LOL! Plan to throw some in my next salad and see how I like it too! Oh, the cats LOVE it! One even slept on it.

The little bit of time it takes to plant/grow the seeds is much cheaper than buying the already grown wheatgrass that is available in the produce section of some grocers. I just soak the seeds for 24 hrs., place in the dirt with a light covering of dirt and within a week it is good to go. I start a new pot a after about 2 weeks so there is a fresh pot ready since the grass only last a few weeks. If my cat is not in the mood to eat the grass o her own, I cut some clippings and put it in her wet food. This seems to help prevent hairballs during the winter months when outdoor grass isn't available.

Growing my own sprouts (for me) and wheat grass (for my cat) is a time and money saver. I'm getting high quality wheat seeds in bulk for slightly less than what it would cost me for a package of sprouts and a tiny pot of pet grass. Given the high rate of germination, I expect this will last for quite awhile. Another plus for me is that very often, the store will be out of the sprouts and/or the grass, forcing me to return another day and hope for the best...

Purchased this for use in a science project for my kids, grow a small section of wheat. Well you wouldn't catch this if you were just growing it for wheat grass but if you get it past that stage it becomes very apparent that this is not what its label claims and is just regular grass seed.

Germinates really fast. Soak maybe twice and it starts sprouting! I bought this for my cat so he could have some grass. Grows quick and fast! Cheaper than buying cat grass at the store. Would definitely consider buying again!
