Vanilla Peppermint Glow-in-The-Dark FINE Jelly Yarn 85 yd Ball (Plastic Yarn)

While this "yarn" does glow in the dark, I would hesitate to say it can/should be used to knit/crochet with. I've been crocheting since I was 11 years old, in recent years quite a bit, creatively crocheting lamps and stiffening them with glue, crocheting around acrylic globes and electrifying them as well. I currently crochet around 4 inch glass orbs, place fairy lights inside and sell them with a "banana" type holder as a mood light. I purchased this with the idea it would be useable for the glass orbs with fairy lights, but it is so "bulky" as described it won't work....big disappointment. Even if I used it for my large (6, 8 and 10 inch orbs) it is very hard to control and keep the stitches uniform, even using a large needle. So, I am going to try to use it other than crocheting around the small globes and see how it works.....if it does and I can i will try to post an update.

Seller packages this yarn with a tin of “yarn balm”, and specifies that it should be used with metal needles. The “yarn balm” lists beeswax as an ingredient, but makes NO. REFERENCE to the copious amount of lavender fragrance (to which I am severely allergic). Thanks for the trip to the ER during Covid for this asthmatic. Not only was that an avoidable field trip, it also raised the price of the yarn by several hundred dollars. Simply listing the ingredients on the tin would have avoided all that drama. Cannot recommend this seller, as they chose to withhold vital information about the product - both that it requires a lubricant, and that the one included was heavily scented. They are harming people with this product.

Its like using plastic to knit with. It is more like fishing line and not yarn and it sticks to the needles.

It is exactly as described. I'm going to work it into the Mermaid tail blanket I made for a Granddaughter! Fun!!!!
