Pedal Board Patch Cables

Possibly one of the better solderless kits out there. Very good quality, easy to make it custom fit your setup. Best choice going from pre-made to solderless as it will always fit your setup and required cable length. Packaging is very good, instructions valid and easy to follow. Very happy with this purchase and would always buy from WD Custom Gear. 2 day fast shipping and everything was working and in place. Love the solid little cable cutter as it would be very handy in some other projects.

Great product! Fairly easy to install. Comes with everything you need for 5 patch cables. Cable, plugs, cutting tool and screw driver. No tone loss. High quality cable!

This product appears to be the solution to custom length patch cables. However, there is so much signal loss that if it worked properly it would only be good for about 3 medal with two of the pedals being distortion and overdrive. However the cables appear to barely work and the manual I was given looks like it was part of a manual that was poorly torn into two halves.Also, only 5 sets of the patch cable heads were present even though the plastic box has spots for 6 of them.

Easy to follow instructions and they work great! As a first time user of solderless cables id definitely buy some of these again

Was looking for a more reasonably priced alternative to some of the bigger names in the solderless cable market and someone turned me onto these. Super easy to assemble, sounds were clean and clear, small footprint so they helped me conserve space, and were also much cheaper than the last brand I used. I’d buy these again in a second

This seemed like a good idea but the cables do not keep the connection. I followed the little instructions provided but could not get the cables to work.

Needed to make a few patch cables for my board. These worked perfectly and sound like any other patch cable.

My experience of using this company is very good, and I’ve been a pain in the backside so the customer service levels are excellent.The kits:First time I’ve stepped a toe into the ocean of making my own cables and pleased to report they work brilliantly. There’s a learning curve which you get over pretty quick, make sure the end of the cable is cut flush and importantly you are pushing a straight piece of cable pushed in tight and the rest is simple. I’ve AB tested these against Ernie ball soldered patch cables and there is no difference to my ear, they are extremely quiet (if you make them correctly!! Again no difference between noise on the Ernie Ball soldered ones so practically/ if not silent) and have tidied up my pedalboard and made it easy to use a switcher as the pre soldered plugs were huge. I was very close to spending £70 on a set of Evidence Audio cables (I would have needed 4 packs!!!) and whilst I’m sure they are great, but I’m not Ritchie Kotzen and no one is sponsoring my kit 😂One piece of honest advice, use a good screwdriver with a larger head than the one in the kit. The one in the kits great to keep as a little “get you out of trouble” tool but you’ll make your life easier with a larger screwdriver. Take your time and get it right, you’ll be thrilled with results. The included cable cutter is spot on.If you do need any help putting them together I was so impressed that I made a YouTube instruction type video, check it out and if you have any questions feel free to leave a comment! I have just built a pedal board and found that most of the patch cables I'd gathered over the years were either too long or too short for the arrangement of pedals that most suited me.I ordered one of these kits a bit tentatively, with some concern about the quality of the connection (and my ability at putting this kind of thing together). I tested every one that I made (guitar to amp) before installing in to the board and they all worked first time!Less than a week later I ordered a second kit so that I can replace my old patch cables, the ones that were about the right length for my new board, so that it's all uniform in to the back of my Octa-Switch (narrower cable also takes up less room when navigating them around the pedals).The only minor criticism I would have is with the screwdriver... the cable cutter was ideal but I reverted to one of my own screwdrivers to finish the job.

I ordered two of the these kits as I was finally rebuilding my tired old pedalboard. It took a couple of attempts to get the hang of it, but when I did making cables was a doddle. The main thing you need to remember is, when pushing the cable into the plug, you really need to push it in.Certainly makes cable making a lot easier and quicker than soldering traditional cables.WD have been great too. I sadly had a couple of screws missing in my kit and contacted them direct. Sorted it straight away, no messing.I can’t comment against other brands of solderless kits, but these are certainly worth considering if you’re after custom length patch cables.EDIT: I managed to set up and use my full rig last night, first time since using the cables. Brilliant, no loss of tone/quality, no crackes or additional noise. Really happy.

This is an amazing cable kit, the cables are really easy to assemble once you get the knack and so far have all worked first time! Use a quality screwdriver to screw the plugs in and you won’t have any issues piercing the shielding. Great communication from the WD team on Facebook too and extremely fast shipping.
