At first confused but it worked itself out.
I found the book highly informative. Although there were a couple parts that left me confused but I think I have squared them away. First was the fact everywhere the book says lemon, peeled. However the first recipe says lemon peel. It took me a bit to figure out this was not an error. Second, having never done a detox before, it left me confused on how I should go about doing a detox. How many drinks a day? Should or shouldn't I eat food that I chew? In the end I figured out most of this. Since I am a diabetic and when of the disadvantages as the author puts it are the spikes when consuming the juice. I closely monitored my levels and found out while detoxing, I had to actually stop taking the prescribed dosage of lantus. I took 90 units every morning. While detoxing, my sugar levels became dangerously low so I had to supplement with a couple of pieces of fruit to bring them to a more normal level. One thing I am not sure of is why the included a bean recipe when I found this book through the Paleo Diet for Beginners. If you follow that diet plan then you do not eat any form of legumes whatsoever. A word of note here, when I say diet I am talking about your daily intake of food and drink. Not some fly-by-night plan to lose weight. Losing weight is part of my objective but eating an overall diet (regularly daily intake of food and drink) that will improve my health (cholesterol, ect) and trying to break free of insulin dependency are my main ones. Losing weight will be the side effect of this process.

juicing for the health of it!
Back in the day, far far back, we use to juice until it broke. Youngest daughter swears by it and lives it everyday. So, I bought a juicer. Bought veggies and fruit and juiced away. I wanted more recipes to drink so I bought Mr Taylor's book. I enjoyed it, love his recipes and realized there was more to it then I thought. I researched more recipe books and realized one thing that Mr Taylor's book had that all the others don't and that is information concerning SUGAR. Who would have thought that sugar would enter into juicing. Who thought that I needed to worry about sugar in juicing. And why are the "other" books not "reporting" about this dangerous substance? I love carrot juice and now I learn it has a high content of sugar. Now I am afraid of going to the doctors to have my blood tested. Believe me at my age I need to worry. Thank you Mr Taylor for bring this to the attention of people how need to worry about sugar.

Great product
Initially, I purchased the book solely for weight loss; however, after reading it and implementing the recipes into my daily routine, I have not only lost weight, but I feel great and have more energy which has helped in all aspects of my life. The book itself is straightforward, the recipes are great tasting and easy to make, and the health benefits add an additional boost of charm to the book. I highly recommend this book not only because of the weight loss benefits, but also because it encompasses overall well-being.

A+ for Paleo Friendliness!
I have been following a Paleo lifestyle with my family for 3 years now and I recently decided to do a juice detox. Most of the books I found were not Paleo friendly nor were they easy to follow especially for those on a budget. This book is awesome and it breaks down each juicing formula by calories and nutrients etc... Most books don't do that. If you follow a Paleolithic lifestyle or one similar this is a great source of information easy to read and understand.

Very helpful info along with recipes.
This was just what I was looking for. The author does not just bombard you with a bunch of recipes. He gives you the process of juicing for weight loss including the detox and fasting phases. I have since discovered some great recipes on my own, but because of this book I know what each juice is good for. For example cabbage juice is great for your intestines, so make sure you have a couple of free hours after drinking it! LOL.

Not my way of living
I tried a 3 day juice fast. By the time it was over I have no desire to ever juice a vegetable again! My campanion lost 5 pounds I lost nothing! All I felt was hungry. The foam in the juice is disgusting why don't they recommend filtering that off. This was not the healthy go all thing I wanted it to be. No wonder you can buy used juicers like crazy on Craigslist.

Good starter for the inexperienced
This helped me on my way to juicing. I liked the way the author put the recipes in certain categories and explained how the different combinations were meant to accomplish certain outcomes. I started with the cleanse, then the detox and lastly the maintenance phase. Now I just throw in whatever I'm in the mood for. It is nice to have recipes and guidelines for a reference though. The price is right.

Life Changer!
Phenomenal! This book has honestly changed my life. I knew I would be doing something healthy for myself but never thought it would effect my energy level, my focus, and goodbye headaches! Normally when I go shopping I look like a deer caught in the headlights, with this book I pull out my phone, try a couple new recipes, and go to town. I highly recommend trying all the recipes as they each have something unique to offer. Totally worth it!
