I bought two of these from different sources. One failed with a melted case and the switch melted so badly it doesn't work. Definitely on its way to a fire when caught. The second is so hot it can't be touched. THERE IS NO UL OR CSA MARKING SO LEGALITY IS QUESTIONABLE.

All interface components (posts, switch, dial) seem sturdy and relatively easy to manipulate. The dial is a little hard to grip because it's a little flat, but it's easy to turn and sticks nicely in place at each position.The power posts are a little crowded. It's actually a little inconvenient to get a wire on them as it is. It would be even worse to get some crimped terminals onto them. They would very likely obstruct (or even trigger) the power switch or the voltage selector dial.Voltages seem fine. Some settings are measuring 0.3 to 0.5 volts high on my cheap $3 meter (take that for what it is). This has been fine for me because most circuits I power with it would drop it that much anyway. I have not yet tested this unit under heavy load.I wish there was a 5V setting. I might look into adding one.I don't have an oscilloscope and can't say how clean the power really is.

These power supplies are much better than the ones that they are a copy of. On the outside, they look mostly alike. But on the inside the components are of much better quality. Especially the voltage select switch. ALSO, these power supplies do not run hot in use, mine run only slightly warm in use. Much much better.

The order for the 3-12 VDC 2A 6-Way power supply was placed on Amazon. Fulfillment of the order was by Parts Express. Shipping for the order occurred at the EOD on the day that the order was placed. The package arrived 2 days earlier than the estimated delivery date. The package was in perfect condition. The part was in brand new condition. The power supply worked exactly as advertised.Will order again from Amazon and Parts Express.

Didn’t’t work. Returned.

I had one of these units for years (bought at radio shack) and it worked well. After finally burning out I looked at local electronic store in vain. If they had them they were very expensive. This unit is the same and cost less than the one I bought 12 yrs ago at RS..I hope it will last as long!..

I bought this power supply because it seemed very similar to one I already have that has worked really well for me. Turns out the this power supply was similar in all the right ways, but uses a large transformer at it's core. Nothing wrong with that. This power supply is very solid and forgiving. I've been using to power a high voltage circuit (kilovolts) and it has performed perfectly.So if you are looking for a solid 12 volt power supply this little guy should work just fine.
