After few years of experimenting with hena, this product covers gray fully. Applied on washed hair, kept the first step for about six hours, applied heat twice. Mixed the second step right before rinsing the first step; used hot tap water. It cooled while rinsing and applied the second step. Keep it on for another six hours, applied heat. Rinsed completely and used online conditioner. No gray hair to be seen! Success with beautiful black natural hair. I know not to use shampoo for at least three days. Note: don’t forget to deep condition after washing with shampoo!!

My natural hair colour is black, which I love. However, the front of my hair is about 20% grey with strands of black weaving through the grey. I have been trying various hennas to get my entire head of hair black. This has been utterly unsuccessful. Based upon the product description, reviews and videos, I hoped this product would work. It did not despite putting it on twice. The 1st time I followed the directions exactly and my grey was reddish brown. The 2nd time, I left the indigo on for 6 hours and not much of a difference. My grey is now a chestnut brown colour. Not what I wanted.If you have black hair and want the product to colour your grey to match the black, it will not happen. If you have dark brown hair and want your grey to probably match your natural hair colour, this is a good product to get a chestnut brown.If you have a suggestion to get my natural black throughout my head of hair, I would greatly appreciate it. I do not want to dye the hair black using chemicals.I hope this saves someone money.Thank you.

I'm allergic to chemical hair dye and have used this for years. It does a great job and my hair looks thick and shiny after using it. Both the auburn and mahogany colors blend in naturally for me (my hair is a reddish brown). The red is too firey to blend in for me, and the brown is too dark. I have long hair and usually get two - sometimes three - uses out of a box and use this once a month. The only issue I have with this hair dye is the mess. It is very messy to use. Like really messy - "open a roll of paper towels and sigh before using" messy. Big gloopy greenish muck messy. But... not using chemicals on my head and getting really good results keeps me coming back.

I have been using this for years. Even though the two steps makes it a 5 to 6 hrs process from applying to waiting to rinsing twice it is worth it. I had tried the one step version but didn’t like the results. This one is better.

Works well. You have to kind of experiment to get the processing time that works for you. I slept with the indigo on and head wrapped which was for me a no-no as it gave me the worst migraine I’ve ever had. It clearly says not to do that in the instructions but I’ve watched YouTube videos that contradict that advice. My hair did come out black, though, and all grays were covered. The second time I only left the indigo an hour. No migraine but no gray coverage either. I’ll try to leave it on for 2 hours next time.

I’m allergic to every permanent hair color I have tried with PPD and PTD. This product was 100%. Had no allergic reaction and it covered my gray fully. It’s a little time consuming and messy, but well worth it. Lasted 4 wks now and just starting to see gray pop through.

This is a great natural way to color your gray hair. I read about this product in another review and had to check it out for myself. My a hair is shiny, with full gray coverage. I’m very happy.

I wanted too bothered by the earthy smells like some people were. What I didn’t care for was the long, long color processing time. I found the instructions for use confusing so I looked for resources online. The consensus was, for the color to take and last, you need to keep EACH step for up to four hours! The whole process took me 6 hours. I got good results but I wouldn’t do it again. Bummer because I bought 2 boxes

I dunno how a scientist got this to be dark brown. I need me one of those for it to work. Otherwise messy and ur left with ur roots orangy and then wonder why you didn't visit a sally beauty store instead
