Latin Percussion LP261 Grenadilla Wood Clave, Natural

I ordered these through Amazon because I've been disappointed by previous clave orders. The sound clarity and tone can be a mixed bag. This is not the case for these claves! I was very happy with the sound and quality of these claves. The tone is traditional and exactly what I was looking for. Very happy that I didn't have to buy multiple pairs to find the exact sound I was looking for. Although there are cheaper alternatives of this instrument, Amazon's return policy makes this the best source to buy them from. These claves have a shiny finish instead of a dull satin finish but they play just the same. Excellent buy.

Very solid, and great sound.

These claves are great. They are solid, heavy, and with a sound that can be heard for blocks.The sound is high-pitched. Adequate to accompany guitar-based music. They are probably too high pitched for salsa, (bigger ones like the LP standard or LP African claves would probably be better for salsa).But overall, these claves are a first class product. I recommend them.

Great looking finish, but the "clicking" sounds vary when you hit them in different places. However, when you "find" the right sound, they sound great!

Use these in my classroom. Probably not what most people use them for but they are easy to hold, easy to control and change their volume. Good quality. I hit them pretty hard and there are very few dents if any.
