Ariston Andris Lux 15 litres Under-Sink Unvented Electric Water Heater, 2kW

It’s second one i bought first one I used for 3 years without problem in business.

I bought this to repace an existing heater of the same type. Its mounting system is very akward as it sits on hooks on the back which means you have to lift it up when it may be full of water making it much heaver. Also you cannot see the back when trying to mount the device, so it is a bit hit and miss to get it mounted secureley.The fittings are liable to weep, (1/2 inch pipe with brass or even plastic reducers) which was possibly an issue with the original device.As a water heater it works well and is pretty much connect and forget.

This is rated one star as the company does not have UK certified installers. Except you’re already confident at installing these brand of electric tank water heaters, I would avoid at all cost.You can save yourself the disappointment and pains that I had.At the time of purchase, there ought to be some communication to warn buyers that they require to purchase an expansion vessel as well as pressure reducing valve.Mine was installed without these and all I’ve had since installing it March 2022 is a constant leak of water from the overflow.All my enquiries via Ariston website and social media keeps directing me to a female call taker who tells me that the Ariston company bis based in Italy and they don’t have any offices in the uk so they’re unable to offer a list of certified installers of their product that I could turn to for help.So Buyer be warned!!!

Well where do i start, the heater arrived earlier than promised, i fitted in it a few hours (bit of plumbing took longer than anticipated). shortly after i cleaned my mess in kitchen, turned water on, No leaks, Result !!, Few minutes later. Hot water. May even get another for Bathroom. (No central heating or boiler in my property). Brilliant, Earning its money and will be paying for itself in a few weeks.

Install was easy, slightly longer cable run required than for the Redring model it replaced (although they're obviously made in the same factory). Important to replace the sacrificial anode (every year for our water supply) to protect the unit. Water heats up from cold (approx 10 deg C) to max temperature (60 ?) in about 10-12 minutes. Dealmasters were very good to deal with - no hesitation in recommending them.

Fitted it myself three years ago. So far so good , no issues. It supply hot water to kitchen and bathroom sinks. Annoyingly it doesn't come pre wired. With just 2kw it should be standard.

Worked well until outside warranty. Failed with catastrophic leak at 6 years. Not good.
