Great for the price.
First of all, don't really understand what sheerness means so I am not commenting on that.My Review: I wanted a minimal setup to improve the sound on my Sony Bravia TV and this set of speakers does the job quite well. I personally don't really care for Dolby surround sound with helicopters from behind me or whatever- so I was not looking for that functionality. people who are looking for that may want to check out 5.1 systems with Dolby Atmos instead of this. I wanted heavy bass tracks to play well without distortion and clearer sound with movies. Although I would have liked 4 mini speakers, the two speakers are really compact and have clear sound. I can tell you that Thor Ragnarok sounds way more cooler and I was able to pick up themes and sounds I was previously not able to - after installing these speakers.A teeny part of the remote was kinked and broken but as it is functioning reasonably well I am not going to return it. Another issue is with the plug. It is loose and I had to switch at least 7 multi-pin plugs before finding a good fit. Also, basically the bass control is on the speaker itself and there is no way to control it from the remote so I guess that's a drawback. No built-in equalizer settings either but I can do that on my TV so all is good.Highly recommended for a budget speaker for a small room or bedroom. (My room is 17 ft by 17 ft by 12 ft and it sounds quite awesome.)

Well featured and decent sounding desktop speakers
Was initially waiting for the creative A250 to get back in stock but since that never came back, this was my second option after searching quite a bit.Straight up, I did not expect the speakers to sound as good and clear as they do. My only prior experience with PC speakers was the Swans M10 and those have exceptional mid range and clarity for the price.Compared to the Swans, the Edifier speakers are very respectable sounding to my ears for just 2k. And these come with FM input, Bass adjustment and a remote control! The speakers have a very clean design with a transparent stand and have a good weight to them despite being 4.5W only. And the front mesh can be easily removed for cleaning and put back in place securely. Bass can be overwhelming if you want it that way but thankfully the bass adjustment knob on the subwoofer is provided to suit your taste. There is decent clarity and mid range if you are positioning the speakers towards you, clarity is reduced if they're not directly pointing at you.I've used them on a desk exclusively so I can't say how loud they're for a TV in hall. For desk use they are having perfectly good volume. Haven't tried max volume to avoid damaging them and my ears. Overall I'm quite happy with their quality and sound, rest of the features I could take or leave for a separate tweeter on them but at 2k it's really stretching it. Highly recommended for budget desktop use, great alternative to creative A250 and looks better too in my opinion.

Prettiest Bass response for the price
The reviews saying these are better then your Creatives and FnDs were my bet on buying these and I have been smiling ever since I have plugged these in. Instant Crush. This is probably the best bass response you can buy for that price, and there is almost no mud. You will enjoy every bit of those low frequencies if you place them correct enough (that goes for any system). I didn't have much to experiment around because this setup is pure waterfall experience.PROS:Amazing bass response and tone, absolutely beautiful. Fit for any genre you can possibly dig. The lows will deliver and will be as precise as you can expect while ordering these and then be amazed for they are a tad bit better than you thought.(My sub is placed on a wooden amp cabinet under the table; see image for reference. Using 3.5mm Aux input for signal and USB Audio)CONS(not really):The speakers are too bright (and try placing them on ear level wherever you sit, if your head is above the speakers, you'll experience more highs)But i believe this is a biased view of my used to ears. So i am using the Sony speakers (image) for a little while with the amp (sub). This opinion might change post burn-in.Now, Should you buy this? Are you considering getting creative or philips or f&d or something in similar waters? 2.1? Precision lover but low budget? Looking for a carpet sound?Yes sir you may give them your money and welcome some love around yourself.(I bought these for 2.8k)

Size doesn't matter althought a better remote would be nice
Arright these speakers skyrocketed through my expectations.. I first hesitated to order these considering the fact that these were small and ccouldnt give me the kinda output I want... But they are awesome. Obv, considering the size, their output is fantastic especially the subwoofer. I'd recommend this if you're going for this budget range. (4 stars for this)Also the main reason I went for this was the aux port which is a blessing. (+1 star)A good aux cable is also included which is awesome. (+1 star)The remote is good enough, with a volume up and down, mute, aux, usb,SD card, FM, Scan, Play/Pause, Previous and Next buttons on them. There is no form of feedback on which mode is on... (Display/sound cue, -1 star) but for the sound these output are awesome. (-1 star)The remote was broken on delivery. (-2 stars)Total of 3 stars, if the remote wasn't broken, 5 stars.

Stopped working after 5 months
Stopped working after 5 months, when i reached out to customer service, they are asking to ship to Mumbai. We have to spend our money to parcel to the location, i think it is not worth. I got repaired in local shop.
