Limited usefulness.
Ok little cheap knock-off. I'm using it for car audio and to mount on a microphone stand to display song lyrics when I play my guitar. Works fine for my purposes as long as it's plugged in. Don't buy this if you're needing some long battery time. You ain't gonna get it. Takes FAR longer to charge up than to deplete the battery. It's a little quirky and slow with some of the touch-screen stuff. The screen reorientation when rotating is slow if it works at all. If you just need something for limited usage while plugged in, like music playback sitting by your speaker, storing recipes, etc., save some money. It'll work. Not sure how long it will work though. I mean, it's cheap for a reason. Sounds great in my van though....plugged into a charger. I'm pleased with it for that purpose.Update April 30, 2015: Got this in October 2014. The headphone jack has already crapped out. But the rest is still working ok. Since my main use for it is car audio, time for another tablet. Guess I'll spend the money for a real one this time. It was worth a shot.Update May 13, 2015. After looking at the cost for a tablet with maybe better dac for music, then considering that I already had 2 12 volt charger/adapters for this thing, I ordered another Scout along with a right-angle 1/8" adapter. I'm just going to leave the adapter plugged into the headphone jack at all times to maybe prevent the early demise of the jack like my current Scout has done. The new one is just going to live in my van, only going out to download a different Spotify playlist now and then. I have to say, the Scout makes a pretty dang good music player if you can keep it working. And the cost makes it almost disposable anyway. Old Scout will be stuck in my gigging bag to pull up song lyrics at jam sessions.Update May 19, 2015. Headphone jack on New Scout bad out of the box. Worked for one day but the output was lower than that of Old Scout and didn't sound as good. Day two, the output started squealing and popping like Old Scout did after 6 months. New Scout is going back. I may try one more time, but right now, doubting it. Bummer.Update: July 18, 2015, Replaced with an Asus Memo pad for $130. Really no comparison. If you need a disposable tablet to use for a trip and then toss, Scout will do that. The screen is going bad on mine now and the touch sensitivity is getting wonky.... aside from the headphone jack problems. After experiencing a real tablet, I can't recommend the Scout. Sorry folks.

Dead on Arrival - But Pleasant Customer Service
I had very high hopes for this tablet. I had a budget of under 100$, and spent about 2 weeks looking around at new, used, and refurbished tablets to try and find the best bang for my buck. I ended up ordering the Scout tablets because they seemed to have great specs for a good price. I order two - one for me and one for the boyfriend. They arrived, and one of them was simply dead on arrival. It would not power on or do anything unless it was plugged in, despite showing a 100% charge. I tried a factory reset among other things, but it would not hold a charge. I was pretty disappointed, as I was really looking forward to finally having a tablet. The other tablet worked fine out of the box, which is why I'm giving a two star review instead of one star. I'm sending both back, however, because I simply can't trust the product at this point. It shouldn't be hard to get the product to work properly out of the box. I will continue shopping around and hopefully find a better alternative.***Updated***I'm still shopping around for a tablet, but I've changed my review from 2 stars to 4 stars because of awesome customer service. I left this review immediately after receiving my defective product, and was understandably frustrated. However, I recently received an unsolicited (and very kind) reply from Thingamajigz offering their apologies for the faulty item, and wishing me luck in my search for a tablet. While this doesn't change the defective product, I will say that this is above average for customer service. I felt it only fair to increase the rating for the product, simply because customer service is the most important factor in my eyes. While I don't have much to say about their products, I can certainly say without a doubt that those in charge of Thingamajigz do things properly.

Loved it but......
I really like this tablet but unfortunately it is not a durable device. I was happy with the speed and apps it had. I had brought this for my son for his birthday and he really liked it as well. Nice game play, look up stuff on the internet, great apps to choose from and camera. After about 3 months I said I would get one for myself. Six months my sons stopped working. It would not turn on, I think it must have over heated of something. My didn't get as much play as his because I only used it to search the internet, take pictures and read. Mine burnt out at about 11 months. This tablet could be a winner if you are not looking for the latest and greatest but it will need to be more long lasting.

Could be better.
As a cheap tablet it's not too bad. But, beware. Internal memory is actually only 4 GB, not 8 as the description says. Also, even though the tablet is rooted, I don't advise trying to remove built-in apps. Doing so may result in a permanent red "Demo" watermark on the screen for which there is no remedy other than returning the tablet.

Got myself a Samsung that works great and this was sent back
Scout was okay if you want something very basic or maybe for a child. Didn't seem to have the "WOW" that I had anticipated. Got myself a Samsung that works great and this was sent back.

I bought four of these for some friends. They all seem to have a problem with the headphone jack straight out of the box. One of them had a problem with the on/off button and the screen shattered when eventually switched on.Other than that all other features are ok for the time being.

great performance
I'm very impressed with its performance and price, the only drawback is a very low quality screen

I was so disappointed I returned it within 10 min
I am baffled by all the positive reviews for this tablet. I was so disappointed I returned it within 10 min. Screen quality is horrible, looks washed out. Battery went from 100 to 80 within the few minutes I was testing it. Ended up purchasing a lenovo tablet which was only 30.00 more and about 100 times better.
