Comfortable hammock, but too stretchy
This is a great hammock if you have the right space for it. The length of the bed is great for taller people, the hammock is tightly woven so fingers and toes don't get stuck, and the rope is very soft and comfortable to lay on. The overall length of this hammock was the same as the old one I was replacing so I assumed it would fit perfectly in my space, but the rope is so stretchy I was practically on the ground when I got on it. Unfortunately, the distance between the posts I'm attaching the hammock to is fixed and I have no way to raise the hammock so it doesn't sink down so low. It seems like a great product, it just didn't work out for me.

46 Days--NO Delivery--Extra Charges
On May 8, 2013, I ordered the Algoma 4910 Two Point Tight Weave Caribbean Hammock. The price was $164 and change with shipping. The hammock was to be delivered in seven to ten days. Then I got a notification that it would be delayed two weeks. The hammock was supposed to be for my husband's birthday on May 19. Therefore, I found him something else, and I decided to save the hammock for Father's Day. On June 5, I still had not received the hammock, so I called Amazon customer service. The representative apologized and told me that Amazon would express mail it (overnight) and I should receive it on June 6 or June 7. On June 9, had not received the hammock, so I checked the status. The charge jumped to $210, and the delivery date was changed to June 25. When I purchased the hammock from Amazon.com LLC, I did not agree to pay $210. i also agreed to the 7 to 10 days delivery. This is a violation of consumer rights and also credit card fraud. I called an Amazon representative again, and I was told that the extra charge was for shipping. I am not sure why a $130 hammock would cost $80 to ship--especially with one-month shipping speed and directly from Amazon, not an external link.To this end, I did some research. From what i have read, Amazon is competing against big-box stores, and Amazon treats new customers well. However, repeat customers get the end of the deal; this seems to be a deliberate method to attract new customers. So much for customer loyalty......I cannot believe it. I have been a frequent buyer on Amazon for personal items and professional items. Wow. Now I am at the end of the line, so to speak.I work for a school district, and during the past seven months, the order history from Amazon is over $7,000. (desk chairs, books, printers, printer ink, etc.).A glance at my personal Amazon account for the past year shows that I have spent approx. $1,740. I have ordered from Amazon for several years.Wow, I am not sure if this is price gouging for the returning customer or for a new customer.I found the same hammock for $86.01 and the same straps for $4.49 (with free shipping) on another website. Also, Cabela's had a comparable hammock for $82.99 and comparable straps for $5.59 (with $5 flat rate shipping on all orders.Shame on you, Amazon. This is an insult to consumer intelligence.PS Does anyone want to buy a Kindle at a rock-bottom, bargain price? I am done with Amazon. The big-box stores look better all the time.I linked into a blog with hundreds of complaints against Amazon similar to mine, so I must not be the only one with this problem.

Things you need to know about this product before buying
Things you need to know before buying:1. This product does NOT come with mounting hardware. There are "hammock hanging kits," but I just bought 4 I-hooks at Lowes for a total of 4 bucks -- it's working great.2. This hammock is big: it measures 12 feet from one ring to the other ring. You'll want AT LEAST 11 feet between your mounting posts/trees (luckily what I had), but ideally 13 feet (1 foot longer than the product).3. The weave on this product is surprisingly soft. Both my wife and I were shocked when we touched it for the first time to discover just how soft it is.4. The weave is darker than it appears in the photos (at least on my monitor). The material almost blends in with the bark of our oak trees (just a shade darker).5. This product is very sturdy. Together, my wife and I approach 400 pounds (I won't say how much weight goes where :), and even that does not seem to approach the weight capacity of this hammock.6. Finally, this hammock is really comfortable -- but it's not a bed. I've spent the past two weekends laying in this hammock for hours reading a book. While extremely enjoyable, I do notice that after an hour I have to shift around because my back starts to become sore.Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase. In the end, it cost me just 15 dollars more than a hammock I was considering at a local store, and in looks alone I feel I got my money's worth.'Hope you found this helpful!

Great Hammock
I bought the Pauly Island hammock last year and loved it. Then a friends dog decided to chew on it. I couldn't bring myself to buy another PI hammock since the price had increased by 40 dollars and it is no longer made in the USA. I was skeptical in buying this hammock because of the picture on the webiste, yet when I recieved this hammock I found that it is beautiful and strong. No it does not come with a stand nor does it come with S hooks and chains. I was aware of this (before I bought) and ran to home depot and picked up my own. You may want to buy the kit from amazon, much cheaper than HD.Have had it for a month and must say good and comfortable hammock. I do like the close knitting of the weave. It is nice that your feet and hands do not fall through. 4 kids have sat on the hammock and no issues, as well 2 medium adults can cuddle comfortably as well.

Such a comfy hammock
I love the tight weave on this hammock. We've had it up for about a month. I've seen some cracking of the finish on the spreader bars - all four "caps" on the end of the bars have flaked off. But the bars themselves still look intact and strong. (I subtracted a star for the temporary finish.) The cotton is soft and so much more comfy than the open weave hammock we had before. I'm 5'10", but there is enough length for me (though technically you are supposed to lay the other way, side to side, or at the very least, diagonally). I leave the hammock out all summer, and they usually last 1.5 seasons before a bunch of strands mildew and break, or the cotton relaxes too much. So far, the hammock is nice and tight.Anyhow, this was a great purchase and I would buy it again.
