This 5 needles felting tool is perfect for larger areas. It comes with 5 fine needles, but you can buy heavy weight needles to use in it depending on your project. You can use less than 5 needles, too. It's made really sturdy, & comes with a plastic guard. I haven't used it to felt yet, but I did practice with some very old wool roving, & this tool worked great. I'll update my review after I use it for a full project. I'm very happy I got this felting tool!! It shipped pretty fast!! 5 stars!!

This tool is comfortable in the hand and quickens the felting process! The needles inside are 38's.

I bought one of these at a yarn shop a decade ago. I still use it. Have never broken a needle. One of my students purchased another brand and all her needles broke. I purchased a set of the clover brand for her and hoped the quality would still be as good. It is. She has not broken a needle again. I recommend this brand to all my students who are working on flat needle felting projects. We are doing art pieces. Abstracts. Still lifes. And landscapes. Tool is easy to use and very effective for locking the fibers together on a craft felt background. We use thick high density foam mats rather than a brush to work on. We use single needles for details and edges.

This felting pen works awesome! and I stabbed away at many felt things with it so far and the needles have not broken. Works great on my shetland wool but also merino, merino just takes more time to get right the way you want it, I always end up using a single needle in my wooden holder from etsy for merino felted stuff. If you are just thinking about starting felting I definitely recommend you try it because it is so much fun!

I wanted a felting tool that would speed up the process & that's why I purchased this tool with 5 needles. I have the single needles & have used them before but this is wonderful. I have only used it once but plan to make more things with it. I'll probably use this 5 needle tool more than the single one. However I found that when making animals I find the single needle more useful because of the more detail work when laying the thick wool on the felting matt. You only want to cover a small area at a time & the single needle worked better for me. This 5 needle however is a very useful tool.
