Good Cooling Functionality, Low Noise
I can’t find a way to subtract a star for this product, which is very simple and does exactly what it’s supposed to do.My recent work-issue laptop is a Dell Precision 7670 running an i7 12850HX: 16 cores and 4.8GHz when it lets its hair down. That’s a lot of potential crunching power, but what surprised me, coming as I do from the land of barn-sized desktops with big, slow-turning fans, is how HOT this laptop is, ALL THE TIME. The case is everywhere warm or hot to the touch, but particularly in the area above/behind the keyboard and high on the backside of the case, where the air intake and exits live. Using it as a literal “lap-top,” your thighs will become uncomfortable. (And your pants will be blocking part of the intake area, so put it on a tabletop instead!) It’s just a lot of compute power in a very tight space. Testing it with the freeware HeavyLoad application, I found that it will start to heat-throttle after a few minutes if all cores are loaded. This test is unrealistic for most of us, most of the time, but it is an indicator. My desktops don’t heat-throttle.So I tried this Kootek Laptop Cooling Pad. You might think it’s a downside that that it is powered through a USB port, because a modern laptop may have only one or two of those – but the Kootek gives you two more on the back of the fan case, so no foul. And if your laptop is “pretending to be a desktop,” like mine, it's plugged into a multi-port docking station and running multiple monitors, a decent keyboard, etc., so the loss of one USB port is of no consequence. And in all other respects, the Kootek is a success. The laptop runs MUCH cooler, both to the touch and in terms of the compute load it will take without throttling. As may be seen from the attached photo, the stand may be raised at the rear to position the laptop’s screen at a height convenient for a multi-monitor setup. The noise level of the fans, even with all of them running, is a whisper which you won’t notice after a while. As for the neato-coolo blue lights underneath…well, they may a bit gamer, but they cause no harm and at least serve has conversation starters. All in all, it’s an inexpensive and simple adjunct for a laptop packing a lot of punch into too small a volume.

Absolutely does exactly what I need it to do - one con read my review
Works great it saved me from having to return my new computer it stops it from overheating completely now and it also is able to used as a really nice stand for my laptop that I can have my computer on in bed. other people in the reviews have mentioned that it's something that you probably won't wanna put on your legs, I've put it on my legs and it doesn't really hurt me because my laptop's light but For people that might have a heavier laptop it might not be comfortable on your legs but I would just put it on your bed if you're on your bed I was using it like a stand. It's really easy to use really easy to set up the airflow is great. It's very sturdy, and the colors go perfect with my laptop.💻 The only thing I think that should be mentioned that I haven't seen mentioned is that the light on the back of the cooling pad is really bright for anyone who has cats that lay in bed with them while they go on their laptop the bright blue lights in the back (there's two of them) are very very bright that's my only negative because it's so bright that I've wanted to cover it up to protect my cats eyes. Other than that I think this is great and the light itself is not a problem, i'm sure there's ways to cover it with like a post-it-note or something. it's just something that I wasn't expecting so I just wanted to let other people know about it so that they could know what to expect.I'm extremely happy with my purchase and it works wonderfully and I hope it lasts me a long time. I would recommend for anybody looking for an affordable cooling pad that works very well & and also works as a laptop stand.

Pulls heat away but fans are designed to pull air into the computer.
Great little freatures like the extra USB ports, tabs at the bottom to keep the Laptop from sliding off, multiple levels of angle, and the LEDs. Its quiet and clean. My only issue is, is that i know it's designed to pull heat away from teh laptop but if youre running a gaming laptop like me, on my Predator Helios Neo, teh fans pull air in and shoot it our the side and these fans pull air away..so it's almost like its fighting the fans built into my computer? I wish one of the 3 modes(Off, 4 fans on, and all fans on) was also a reverse fan option.

Good quality for the money. Lights come on with fans.
Works as it should, adjustable, quiet, and sturdy. The lights are a cool touch. They do come on with the fans, no option to turn them off.

Quiet, powerful, and keeps my laptop cool under pressure!
The Kootek Laptop Cooling Pad has been a lifesaver for my laptop during long work sessions and gaming marathons. The fans are super quiet but move a ton of air — you can feel it working as soon as you turn it on.It’s adjustable, so I can set it at a comfortable angle, and it feels sturdy on my desk. My laptop stays cool even when I’m pushing it hard, and the extra USB ports are a nice bonus. If you’re tired of your laptop sounding like it’s about to take off or getting too hot to touch, this cooler is a simple and effective upgrade!
