beyerdynamic Soul BYRD Wired Premium In-Ear Headphones in Black

After reading the What-Hi Fi review on these I decided to go for these headphones (their reviews have always come up trumps for me before). I own some Beyerdynamic Amiron headphones and they are superb so had no reason to doubt the brand. I was so dissapointed with the tinny sound and comfort which drove me to purchase some INAIRS foam tips (inexpensive). The improvements are outstanding - now the headphones feel much more comfortable and the sound is great. Good headphones but buy different tips. Beyerdynamic need to supply foam tips as standard as they are doing these great headphones a misjustice, but don't let this put you off as I am really pleased with them now

A beautiful, simple design, sturdy enough feeling cable and a lovely neutral sound, these soul byrds are a brilliant option in the £50-£100 price bracket.A few quibbles; they're still not comfy when lying on your side. Though some advertising claims that as they fit inside your ear and therefore solve the age old in-ear problem, they're better than many but still not amazing.Also, they're possibly a little pricey based on some competition. Namely the Soundmagic which are about half the pricey and honestly there's not much to choose between them.Overall though, these headphones feel like a quality product and I'm glad I got them.

Took a chance on these having read a few good reviews. I wanted wired headphones in preference to short lived environmentally damaging mainly not so good Bluetooth earphones.. (I also don’t like the idea of one falling out and rolling down the nearest storm drain ;). ).my previous set of wired earphones have always been very good (much better than the old apple EarPods) but after many years are tiring a little so time for a new set. I jumped ship to these beyerdynamics pieces and what a difference. Wonderful clear pleasant sound … very well balanced and well made. Only been using for a few days but really very very happy … all for a 1/5th of the price of latest apple EarPodsOnly down side is that apple have removed the 3.5mm headphone jack (big mistake) from latest iPhones so I have had to purchase a lightning to 3.5mm jack converter. Not great due to how far out of the iPhone it sticks .. I can imagine it breaking or damaging the phone …So I would love to see a version of these earphones with a short stubby lightning connector that would work well when phone is located in a pocketAnyway this aside these phones are truly great .. highly recommended

Having carried out some research into an upgrade to my pair of earphones, I plumped for the Beyerdynamic Soul Byrd, and I am not sorry I did. Once I found my correct pair of rubber buds and allowed them to burn in for a few hours, I was blown away by the sound. The base is there but not overpowering, and the highs are crisp. Vocals are clear and precise, and over all the timing is excellent. At this price point, I think the Beyerdynamic Soul Byrd is hard to beat. These are sound isolating, and the level of isolation achieved allows you to use them in street without the fear of being run over! The quality of build is matched by the quality of the sound. They are not fussy, doing everything and more of what you would expect from a quality make.

Title says it all really. These are the best earbuds I've ever used for listening to music, and they're really comfortable to wear. Unfortunately however the mic is awful - did a couple of tests and it sounds like you're underwater. I'd hoped to be able to use this for video calls but I couldn't inflict that sound quality on my colleagues. They're so good for listening to music I'll probably hold on to them for my lockdown walks.

As someone who has spent three figures on other in-ear headphones recently (AKG N40's) which needed repairing after less than a year - I vowed never to do so again despite immense sound quality. So, therefore, what could I get for far cheaper, whilst keeping an inevitable quality sacrifice to a minimum level.Step forward these beauties. They fit great but above all else they sound great. Sure, no doubt, you could find ones that sound better, but like myself you'd have to pay for them and take the risk that they aren't flimsy, second-rate manufactured jokes. Time will obviously tell on these but they cost £50 compared to more than double of my previous purchase, yet the dip in audio quality is not even close to being double.Great bass, balanced sound, zero cable noise, in other words, exactly what I want when I listen to my FLAC's walking about or commuting. The only reason people might say different is if they use the incorrect sized tips or even just the wrong tips in general. They make a huge difference. You spent time researching the headphones yourself, and the tips need equally as much work. Personally I went with InAirs Air2 and they are superb.It's a winning combo for me.

I couldn’t get a good seal with the provided ear tips, so I got Comply foam tips. These ear buds now sound amazing. Thunderously deep, precision highs, incredibly detailed. These put my Grado SR80e headphones to shame. I don’t know how Beyerdynamic did it, but I love these.

Sound is pretty good, however after only 6 months they are basically not useable anymore. Anytime there is a slight movement of the cable, it triggers the play / pause / next / voice control function in a very random way. Basically they only work if the cable is only completely still, which does not happen when I’m walking, biking, running etc…

Noise cancellation is not a hardware feature but done by the snug fitting od the ear buds. So you are advised to use the correct size from the set supplied. Bayerdynamic is famous for their excellent drivers they use in their headphones. Highly recommended if you want neutral sound. Neutral sound gives you more insight into the vocals and delicate orchestration of wind and string instruments. That's a speciality of the driver used and can be attributed to neutral base (bass response).
