Great upgrade to our laundry room.
We have an upstairs laundry room that had a habit of getting a bit humid and stuffy after a few loads of laundry. One solution was to leave the door open, but then I would have to hear the washer and dryer operating non-stop; my home office is located next to the laundry room. Quick Google search later, it dawned upon me the obvious solution was to install an exhaust fan, similar to those found in most bathroom these days.I only had the single light switch to work with, and was not in the mood to run/splice electrical cables in the attic to split the power load between two switches. Instead I opted for this exhaust/light box combo. Flip the switch, and the fan and lights turn on. Throw in a motion sensor lightbulb, and the light on remains on while someone is moving about in the room. End of the day, flip the light switch and the whole unit is powered off.Exhaust fan seems to have done the trick, laundry room no longer feels humid and stuffy after a couple of loads. Plus the exhaust fan is much more quieter than the one in our bathrooms (see screenshot of dB app). The ones in our bathroom are standard model noisy things loud enough to hide some interesting sounds from within the bathroom. This unit is much more quieter and barely noticeable when the just out the laundry room with the door closed. My only complaint, if you call it that, is the actual metal casing itself can use some deburring. Looks like they simply stamped out the metal shell, bent it into shape, and left all the little jagged bits of metal and sharp edges for you to discover during installation. Not uncommon for these type of appliances, but definitely worth noting for novice DIYers.Overall, I am satisfied with this solution and have recommended to at least two other people since I've installed it.

Light and Fan in one.
I initially put up a light in the shower stall then realized a fan would be really helpful. I took down the light and added this combo pack and love the functionality. Stong light that you can set based on your light color preferences warm or bright light. The fan is strong and works well in a large shower space. I would purchase this product again.

Quiet, Sleek Design When Installed Correctly
Some reviewers are complaining that their Broan 744 fan is loud but I'd suggest you ignore these reviews. Why? They've not followed the instructions! There's one very important step if you want your fan to be quiet, and it's listed right in the instruction manual.Once you've hung the fan on your rafters, in a small caption, the instruction manual tells you to crimp the hangers to the housing. What it's telling you to do is to prevent the metal slides that you used to install the fan to vibrate against one another. The easiest method to fix this is to use a hammer with a round head to lightly tap the top and bottom of the slides where they meet together. You'll notice as you crimp the metal to one another, the hammer on metal sounds will get quieter as you're crimping. This alone is the majority of the noise many users are complaining about.I installed this product along with a DewStop switch so I officially have a stealthy fan that automatically starts and stops based on humidity in the air and it mixes right in with other recessed lighting as if a fan doesn't exist at all.As for the bulb, if you install this directly over a shower or tub, you might have trouble finding a PAR30NL bulb that's rated for wet conditions but there are plenty of them out there. It's important to find one that can tolerate water contact, such that a splash doesn't make a nasty surprise.

Nice Fan. Realatively Quiet
I used this to replace a 15 year old Broan bathroom exhaust fan that stopped working. That fan was very loud and this one is noticably quieter. It makes a low hum which is not objectional at all.The installation was straightforward and smooth. I had to do some patching to the ceiling after the install since the light on this fan is off center and was positioned to the left of the previous fan which I expected. The only small problem I ran into was with the exhaust port on the fan. There is a round plastic piece with a louver door that must be attached to the fan exhaust outlet. It attaches by just pushing it onto the fan and two small plastic protrusions are supposed to seat themselves in two notches on the fan outlet. Only one plastic protrusion would seat itself. I ended up using a small self tapping screw to hold it in place. This wasn't a very big deal but was frustrating. The fan looks good and works well. It is not very powerful but I have a fairly small bathroom. Make sure you check the CFM ratings to size the exhaust fan to the size of your basthroom.

Fit existing hole in ceiling perfectly - super simple install
Installed this in place of can light in shower ceiling. Fit existing hole in ceiling perfectly - super simple install. Wiring allows option of controlling the fan and the light independently - or wire for single switch to energize both the light and fan. Used LED lamp (bulb) from old fixture. Looks good. Runs quietly (makes about as much or less noise as the shower itself does). Moves the air, and mirrors no longer fog in our bathroom. Should have installed this years ago. If you like the minimal look of this model... pull the trigger and buy it. I replaced an existing exhaust fan above our toilet the same day - and it was more difficult to replace than it was to install the Broan 744 above the shower! The ONLY thing I can say negative about it is that the exhaust outlet, (ducting centerline would run parallel to ceiling joists) exited on the "wrong" side of the unit in my case. I wish the design were such that it was convertible, but no real big deal there. I would buy again without blinking.
