My First Waxing Ever, I'm a Believer in this Product!
First of all, let me say that I'm disabled; my disability makes it a challenge to control my body. Secondly, I'm on blood thinners, so I bruise easy. Thirdly, this was my first ever waxing.I stopped shaving the end of last summer because it had become such a mess. No matter what I did, I didn't have enough control to keep from nicking myself all over the place and being on blood thinners, it looked like a brutal murder had taken place for hours afterwards. My biggest concerns about waxing were about being able to rip the strips off properly, the bruising and the pain. This morning I set everything up and prepared for a long agonizing process and found it not to be so at all! I'm thinking since I haven't shaved in a while (which in Arizona, the end of summer is like November when it finally cools off enough.) so perhaps the hair was finer than if I had been shaving. My first challenge was keeping the wax warm enough for me to be able to spread, which of course is a challenge for me anyways. Being disabled, constantly going to the micro wasn't really an option. I would have worn myself out too much to finish. Keep in mind it's 78 degrees in here and yet I couldn't keep the product warm enough to spread easily enough. I solved that by turning off the overhead fan and I put the product jar in a bowl with warm water. I put the strip on and clenched for anticipated agony. Rip. Huh, that was no big deal at all! Since this was my first time, I didn't want to invest too much in this option in case it didn't work out, but I plan on getting a warmer for next time, and there will definitely be a next time! The next issue to solve was a bit of a sticky mess. This is mostly due to my bodily issues; I found that my hands were getting a bit sticky when I was rubbing the strip before pulling, but also when my body was jerking around, I was getting the product all over my arms, hands and oxygen tubing. This was easily solved by having a damp wash cloth next to me. I don't imagine others will have to deal with this quite the same way I do, but you may find your hands get sticky and the damp wash cloth will be very handy. I probably used more wax then most people might, even still, if I used this same amount again, it looks like I would have at least four more leg waxings. I expect I will be using less next time, as I found that I didn't need to spread more product on each time, but just put the strip with some wax already on it onto the next section, rub it to warm the product, wait a moment for it to cool, and then rip again and repeat until it wasn't sticky enough. As I mentioned above, I was concerned about the pain and the bruising. The pain was quite tolerable for me, in the most sensitive areas it was perhaps a 3 or 4 in the pain scale where 10 is the worst. I mention again the blood thinners cause me to bruise when the wind blows, however I found that I had little bruising. I tried to position my leg to keep the skin as tight as I could and then didn't need to try to use my hand to keep it taught except for a couple of places, but I didn't make the skin taught there and thus received a bit of mottled bruising. This being my first time, I figured out not to do that again and therefore it wasn't an issue anymore. I put some Arnica Cream on and it's not that big of a deal actually. I guess there was one more concern, my red-headed daughter tried to get professionally waxed and ended up very red, irritated and bruised. I have very sensitive skin and found there is no irritation or redness whatsoever. I was also a bit concerned, this being my first time, and I've never even been professionally waxed, but I found the instructions to be very adequate and the process simple. My legs feel silky soft and pretty. Even though this was my first time and thus I would expect it to take longer to do the whole thing, it probably took less than an hour, but in my case, the need to move back and forth to get things (re-heat the product, get a damp wash cloth, etc) then having to rest in between is what took most of the time. Next time I will have a warmer and everything set up at the start and my guess is that it will take about 20 minutes, including having to clean up from body jerks into the product. This was wonderfully easy and I have great results! I chose this product because of the reviews stating that they had minimal redness, easy clean-up and good results. I'm not disappointed, in fact I am extremely pleased and would recommend this to anybody interested in being waxed.

doesn't work well
I so wanted to love this product, but oh well, didn't happen. I'm fairly familiar with most kinds of hair removal: shaving, waxing, epilating, laser. With that said, I'm most familiar with waxing, having done so for the past 15 years, both professionally and at home. I recently switched to epilating because I just couldn't afford monthly waxes anymore, and the mess of doing it at home was enough of a deterrent to me. However, epilating my thighs hurt so much, I decided to wax them, and just keep epilating my lower legs.Anyhow, I bought Moom because of the mess-free promise. I thought "this is it, I'm in heaven". However, once I got it home, it just didn't work properly. I followed the directions, and I am very experienced with at-home waxing also, and it just wouldn't grab all the hairs. It grabbed about 10 percent of the hairs on any given area. True, there was no mess, and it hurt less. But it didn't do its primary job, which is ripping those hairs out! It was so frustrating, I went over the same area three times, and nothing! Tried different strips, and found that the paper disposable ones work better than the cloth ones provided. But still, now I was getting maybe 15-20% of the hairs. I got sick of it, got my walgreens-purchased Sally Hansen messy wax, and finished the job--no hair left behind AT ALL.So, here are a few possibilities why it didn't work for me:1) Moom only works on some kinds of hair. My hair is thick and black.2) I was unlucky and got a bad batch3) Reviews are fakeI usually trust reviews, and most of the time my experience matches those of the majority, so I'm just baffled and a little sad. Looks like it'll be back to messy sticky waxes for me.

Best home hair removal product!
This is absolutely the best home hair removal product I have ever used. I bought a single package with a 6 oz jar of Moom, 12 body and 6 face washable fabric strips, plus a few applicators for under $15(US). Over a year later, I am using the SAME fabric strips and still have half the jar of Moom remaining! I can't say enough about it. Extremely affordable AND effective!I use this primarily to remove facial hair (upper lip and chin), and it is the only product that doesn't make me break out. It washes away with water alone, and my pores are never clogged. At first, I wasn't impressed with how it was working, so I watched the tutorial video and tried again. I now prep by washing my face, drying entirely, then smoothing on an extremely small amount of baby powder or cornstarch. I spread the sugaring solution MUCH thinner than I ever would have thought to do on my own, and I reuse areas of the same strip (without adding more product) by pressing it back against my skin and rubbing quickly to warm it up, then cooling and removing again. I was amazed to find that it actually works!!I rinse the fabric strips with warm water when I'm done and press them flat to dry. They still work 100% as well as the first time I used them. The only additional purchase I made was a pack of toothpicks, which I use to smooth the product onto my face. The original applicators definitely do the job, but toothpicks allow for a bit more accuracy, and you can just discard them instead of washing at the end. It's amazing how much hair comes out with every strip, and with very little pain. Of course it stings (you're ripping hair out of your skin - I think we all have realistic expectations here), but the difference with sugar solutions like this is that after you pull the first strip and most of the hair is removed, the second strip only grabs the remaining hair, not the skin. After the first strip on a particular area, the second one barely stings at all. If you still see hairs, smooth on a bit more baby powder and the next strip will do the job.I am thrilled with this product for facial hair removal. The added bonus is that it smells and tastes good, and it is more natural than any other product that I've used. Of course you don't care what it tastes like, but when you're spreading a product directly under your nose, it is important that it is made from all natural ingredients. If you accidentally lick your lips and get a bit of it in your system, it's awesome to know that you aren't ingesting noxious chemicals, but rather a fairly natural compound that will do less harm than eating a bite of a sugary dessert.Buy this product! Watch the tutorial, follow the instructions, and you will not be disappointed!
