With aluminum construction the float should last a long time

Has corroded very fast

I have to water 100 heifers in a trough using a hose. This keeps me from having to turn the hose off and on and having overflows. Put a quick coupler on so it’s even easier to disconnect at night.

Works well

Have used this type of float for years. Have not been able to find the galvanized ones for a while. The plastic just don’t hold up. They freeze and crack or get broken from rowdy livestock. No worries with this one.

I have had a Little Giant float valve on a tank for at least 6 years. It has always performed perfectly -- letting water flow when the level goes down, and stopping the flow when the water level reaches the set point. When I needed a second float valve to put in a new stock tank I never considered any other brands nor models. I had bought the first one at my favorite locally owned, independent farm supply store, but no area stores had any so I was happy to be able to get one off Amazon.

I replaced a plastic one for this metal one and I like it much better, seems more durable. The issue however, is that the float isn't engaging correctly to shut off the water flow.I tried filling the 150 Gal tank up past this unit and it still continued to trickle through. Slower but still present. Unfortunately I'm not able to trust that the trickle is slow enough to not eventually overflow the trough.
