I bought these for my son's room but we ended up using them on our deck. The refill bobber sticks sometimes, but is very helpful and our marigolds have popped like never before now that they aren't getting too dry every now and then. A super-hard rain will cause the water to pool and overflow, but that only happened with us once when we had 8 inches of rain. I just dumped the excess out and it was fine. Also, these are made for indoor use so not really a product issue. We will buy more of these for sure. At least that is what my wife told me....

This fits perfectly in the space where I wanted it. The water indicator level is visible from the floor so I don’t have to constantly get up and down to check the soil. Even with water in it, it wasn’t too heavy or sloshy — no leaks when I stood on a step stool to put it up on the cabinet. I really like the size and color and price, which is why I picked this one over others. Very happy with the purchase.

They were really nice boxes for planting but to narrow for what I need for, I was replanting my orchards .

I have a line of snake plants in two of these that sit on a windowsill. It works great. The reservoir makes it so I don't have to water very often.

The idea of a self-watering planter is great and I'm a big fan. This product has some positive points: I like how you can monitor the water level. I disliked the plug in the bottom, for those who want to use it outdoors like a regular planter. First, you have to decide what you want -- the product doesn't need to double as an outdoor regular planter. Second, one of the plugs lacked the sealing O-ring and I had to use hot glue to plug the hole (quality control issues). Third, the styrofoam ball that sits underneath the water level indicator was loose inside the box and almost got lost. Hence, I'm giving it three stars for lack of quality at this price range.

I bought some seeds (on Amazon) and this planter. I am not an experienced gardener at all. In fact, my plants would die if my husband didn't water them. I had never planted seeds before. To my big surprise, my experiment went amazingly well and my herbs started sprouting really soon. Now I have huge dill and cilantro plants and somewhat smaller chives and basil. So clearly, the planter did really well. I just filled it with water each time the soil felt dry.

It’s a good size pot. The self watering kinda sucks so i recommend just watering like a normal plant. The only positive is when you water like normal it allows for a little extra water to be held at the bottom, but other than there’s no benefit. From the pictures provided my plant wasn’t this size when potting so it definitely allowed for it to grow.

Bought this planter to grow catnip in my garden window. As you can see, my cat Pumpkin got to the planter first!The only assembly was putting the water level indicator in the planter insert, and that was easy. I had 3 catnip plants, and was concerned the planter was too small. It isn't - it's deceptively spacious. I love the coffee finish; it's textured and such a pretty color. The water level indicator is working perfectly, so I'm sure I won't overwater my plants again (and avoid an overflow mess on my counter).
