Cuts beautifully and easy to use.
I bought this for my young adult son but am constantly using it. It cuts beautifully. Sharp and with a long blade, it slices through even frozen bread like it's "butta". Excellent quality and value.

Best knife I have used in my entire life!
I tested and tried cutting by sourdough bread with many knives before ending in a bunch of bread crumbs everywhere every time... But that's over with this one! It's just perfect! It's super light weight, sharp as hell!! I would not allow anybody to be close to me when I'm using it because is extremely sharp and that makes the cutting as simple as cutting butter, no crumbs anymore, I can cut the slices as thin as I want (something I could not do before with other knives) or as thick as I need always with perfect surface to spread the butter or cream cheese or whatever you want on top, the holes of the bread will look awesome and no waste of bread with this. It has a little curve on the blade that allows reaching the bottom of the bread easily with no complications like with straight blades. It's worth every penny, I'm very very satisfied with this!! Will look for more knife types of this same brand if available.

Best Value. My choice over Mac/Shun/etc...
This is a perfect bread knife, very well made and ergonomic. It is far better than any flat knife, you will never go back after you try one that is curved. the handle is suitably offset and the geometry of the scallops is my preference for hard breads. It is perfectly stiff and better than any bread knife I've ever used. I think it is preferable to the fantastic, curved wide-blade wustof, and everything else that could compare to it costs more. The steel is good, the grind is good, and it is a good complement for any knives with pakkaeood handles. Especially if your knives are in VG-10 or a similar stainless. The only better knife I've seen in this role could be the glestain, which might not cut as well and doesn't have a much better handle. If you want a fancy bread knife this one does very well, and is a great value. You could spend more, but you won't get custom handles easily on a bread knife. All of my nicer knife rolls have significantly better steels, and I have never heard of an Aogami Super bread knife. Those gyutos should cut any bread, period. So for me, this is a top-tier bread knife. No sense in spending more.

Fabulous bread knife
Fabulous knife for its main intended usage, i.e. slicing bread. My old scalloped bread knife of a different brand was perceived as almost as good when it was new, but clearly it has lost some of its edge just from gentle, albeit regular usage over many years. I am very pleased with the upgrade.

Very good bread cutter
Tojiro bread knife: Lightweight and deceptively sharp. Slices through a crust like butter with minimal effort – a real plus during a busy service. Easy to maneuver, doesn't tire out the wrist. For a bread knife, it's surprisingly nimble. Good value for the performance.Only issue is it doesn’t fit in a traditional knife holder due to its length.

4 years later - same price, same sharpness, same awesomeness
This is it. Don’t keep spiraling and hyper researching on the best bread knife for the money. This thing is stupid sharp, cuts through hard crust loafs like warm butter and really keeps its edge.I have zero issues, I love all of my Tojiro blades and especially love this one. It’s also on the larger side which is nice when you have odd shape bread that you are trying to slice.Cuts stay straight, easy to clean and maintain, it’s honestly one of the best bang for your buck blades you can get.

Different blade, worth it
lobbed scalloped blade different than many others with the pointed scalloped blade. Great weight, good amount of steel on the blade, not a flimsy knife. Bake a lot of home bread, different crusts and this has proved superior on nearly every level.

My favorite serrated knife
Ive repurchased this knife twice because it works so well. One tome it was stolen and the other time I was a dummy and pierced something frozen and it snapped. That was my fault though. And it has always stayed sharp. Doesn't get dull
