DV port faulty?
I received the unit as described, however it appears that the DV port on the rear of the unit is defective since Windows does not recognize the unit when plugged into my PC using a DV to IEEE 1394 cable. I planned to digitally download MiniDV tapes to my PC. So far it's not possible. As can be seen in the attached photo, the DV port is scratch up heavily, and the plug fits loosely.

Both seller and machine were a pleasure to deal with. the DSR 45 is a great machine which worked 'out of the box' as most Sony pro products do.
