KORN MIXING THE NEW WITH THE OLD
On their tenth album "The Path Of Totality" Korn gave their sound a much needed shot in the arm, it seems working with a whole host of Dubstep and Electronica artists had revitalised the band even if it did split Korn fans down the middle. Then again at this stage it doesn't really seem to matter what Korn do, the fans will complain anyway. So for the launch of their new album Korn would play the Hollywood Palladium along with Skrillex, Excision, Datsik, Downlink, Kill the Noise, and 12th Planet who all had a hand on various tracks on "The Path Of Totality" album. The Blu-Ray of the show is stunning as the band enter the stage to flashing LED lighting that's both behind the band as well as over the crowd and it's evident from the opening track "Get Up!" which features Skrillex joining them on stage playing guitar that the new direction the band have taken is just as heavy as their earlier ground breaking material. The first half of the gig is made up of seven tracks from "The Path Of Totality" album, the Skrillex tracks are the pick of the bunch as the crowd go crazy for the sound of "Narcissistic Cannibal" with its bleeping and screeching beats and heavy bass. The second half of the Blu-Ray sees Korn playing some of their well-known hits as well as "Predictable" which is a treat in itself for the die hards. If you have a decent receiver and Full HD TV it really helps to capture the band as the picture is crisp and the sound is heavy and loud featuring a 5.1 DTS HD soundtrack that does the Dubstep produced tracks full justice. There is also a CD of the same show included and it does sound tame when compared to what the Blu-Ray sounds like. There is very little in the way of extras just a few interviews the most interesting are with Drummer Ray Luzier who talks about the difficulties he faced incorporating the Dubstep beats with his own Drumming. Keyboardist Zac Baird just seems happy that his keyboards are higher up in the mix. This is probably Korn's best live show that they have released so far, sounding and looking amazing. With the album "The Path Of Totality" Korn got as experimental as they ever have and it's probably the record they have been trying to make(with the exception of Korn III: Remember Who You Are) since Guitarist Brian "Head" Welch left and this live Blu-Ray finds Korn mixing their old sound nicely with their new.

Still up for it
These lads are just awesome they get better and better all the time. I stopped listening to korn a while back after all the crap happened with head. I thought they would fall apart so decided to leave it for a while. But like any fan I wanted to check back in and see how the boys were doing and discovered they had a new concert out on bluray. yay. They have mixed dub step (Which I like very selectively) to a lot of their new songs, which I was very worried about because it could go wrong so easily. But they work they have put in makes it work very well. The bass is stronger then ever and adds to the whole sound 10 fold.I was very impressed with this gig, they have a good few new songs from their recent album for the first half and then goes back to old school stuff for the second half. The entire gig is full of moshable opportunities. Again my neck and head hurt after watching it but I felt so damn good. One thing that actually got on my nerves a bit is when they played got the life and one part of falling away from me, they changed it way too much and all the good mosh parts were turned into...I don't know what they hell they did to it....its a bit annoying when you want to throw your head around.the rest is really savage and I am really impressed with johns live voice it is really improving all the time. He gets tired later on near the end but that is forgivable obviously. It was a shame about the crowd standing around with their phones...omg who cares what they look like...get your boogie on!brilliant gig I wish I was there.

Four Stars
A bit more dubstep than I'd imagined it would be. Strange yet still decent.

Simply Amazing
While the running time may be a bit short for a Korn library, this concert is nothing short than breathtaking. The Blu Ray quality is top notch in terms of both picture and sound. This is a nust by for every Korn fan and for those who wants to discover Korn at the top of their career
