ARS ARS-VS-8XZ Hand Pruner

I have used these for one season of pruning fruit trees. I used a pair of Stihl pruners for about 10 years before this purchase. The ARS 8’s arrived very sharp and tight making for very clean cuts. They are a nice size for pruning up to 1/2”. Despite their claims these would be a bit small if you have to make a lot of larger pruning cuts. The one hand lock/unlock feature is nice. I like them.

As a professional these are unmatched in terms of quality and ease of use. I can work faster and do an excellent job. For homeowners these are worth every penny to save your hands and get good clean cuts. Quick tip the last two pair I received were a little stiff for the open close mechanism. After about two weeks of daily use they softened up and work smoothly. Not ideal but a temporary annoyance for a quality blade.

This pruner stays very sharp, easy to use, good for smaller hands. Bright red handle makes it easy to see. They can be a little tight in the open/close mechanism, but this loosens up eventually and I've found them to be the best pruner I've ever had. I agree with the AI generated review except that I found that with use the opening and closing gets better. The first one I had was perfect, open/close was excellent and made work SO much easier. I very highly recommend for someone with the smaller hands.

This ARS hand pruner is the first that I've owned and the best I've ever rused. It is incredibly sharp, lightweight and comfortable to hold. The unique locking mechanism feature is a plus. Superior quality, Made in JAPAN. 🇯🇵

These are very high quality and made in Japan. They cut extremely well, and it looks like they come apart and are repairable if necessary. The only improvement I would like would be bigger handles that fit my hand better. But these will likely be the last pruners I wil ever need.

Excellent hand pruners extremely sharp and easy to operate. They are well built and not flimsy in anyway. The perfect length and feel great in my hand as I have small hands. I am very pleased with my pruners a little pricey but you get what you pay for. A+ all the way.

I heard about this brand from an avid orchardist known for his pruning expertise. I watched several youtube videos on pruning from the presenter out of UC Santa Cruz and learned a great deal about pruning, as well as the ARS brand of pruners, saws and such. Much better priced than other well known pruners yet high quality with very sharp blade. I will buy other ARS products and highly recommend these hand pruners.

Die Gartenschere liegt gut in der Hand und ist einhändig ver-/entriegelbar. Das funktioniert super gut. Die Schnittleistung ist über jede Kritik erhaben, super scharf und schnitthaltig. Ich habe schon viele Scheren probiert, auch die aus der Schweiz (F***o). Diese Schere ist ihr bzgl. Schnittqualität und Schnitthaltigkeit deutlich überlegen. Egal ob dick oder dünn, hart oder weich, die Schere schneidet alles ohne zu rupfen. Die Schere geht auch durch etwas dickeres, holziges sauber ohne etwas zu reißen durch. Ich habe damit schon 2,5cm dicke, verholzte Weintriebe ohne großen Kraftaufwand sauber angeschnitten. Die Griffe sind auch ergonomisch gut gestaltet, so dass beim schließen nicht versehentlich die Fingerkuppen anschlagen. Die Klinge ist auch leicht zu schärfen. Ich besitze auch noch ein japanisches Modell (O******e), dass zwar bei den Schnitteigenschaften gleichwertig ist, aber bei größeren Händen bei der Ergonomie zu wünschen übrig lässt. Ich greife immer öfter zu diesem Modell und kann es nur jedem wärmstens empfehlen.
