Easy Move from Analog to Digital Over-the-Air Broadcast
I have been using a converter box and analog TV ever since we were required to make the change to digital TV. My 29" SANYO analog TV was a gift and has been a great TV. However, I have wanted to make the change to a digital TV, as well.Today I received the Samsung UN40H5003 TV and am very pleased. I also purchased the byone HDTV window antenna with a stand. Byone offers black, white, and clear antennas in a paper thin plastic. I bought the clear and mounted it on a byone stand, purchased separately. I liked the fact that this antenna offered a 20 ft cable since I needed to place the antenna in another room, and most of the antennas do not have cables longer than 10 ft. The TV and antenna arrived on time from Amazon and were packaged beautifully. The delivery service brought the large shipping carton into my home. If you live alone, you will want to proceed very carefully so that you do not damage any of the items in the shippng carton or the Samsung TV box, but you should be able to gently move the Samsung box out of the shipping carton. The instructions suggest that you assemble the stand first. Basically, a shell-shaped post slips onto the shiny black base and is secured using 4 screws.Once that step has been finished, the other end of the shell-shaped post screws onto the back of the TV. This step is the most delicate step of the entire process since the TV has be to placed gently, face down, on a table or flat surface that is covered by a cloth. The post will be attached to the back of the TV. Instead of using a table, I used the Samsung TV box, lying flat on the carpet, as the table so that the TV was never at risk of falling more than a few inches. The instructions are pretty simple as you begin to program the TV. Batteries are included with the remote, which you will use to turn-on the TV and scan for channels. The instructions suggest that all components (such as a DVD player) be added before the TV is turned-on.The single most important step is to be sure to select AIR as the source if you are not planning to use cable or satellite, etc. To do this, you press the button labeled Source on the remove. Then you will follow the prompts as they appear. Many of the prompts are pre-selected (highlighted), so you simply press the Enter button, which is positioned at the center of the up/down/left/right arrows section on the remote. There is a bit of a lag sometimes with the TV's loading of some channels. For that reason, it's best to re-scan often until you are sure that your TV has captured all channels within your viewing range. I don't know whether or not this lag is due to the antenna or the TV set.If you get an antenna stand, as I did, you may find it hard to get the posts that support the antenna into the base of the stand. Just keep working with them. Eventually they pop into place. The shipping carton was heavy, but the TV box inside the shipping carton was not heavy. I took the carton and box to the carpet and worked on the soft carpet, taking care to keep the TV set upright as instructed.Everything looks great, and I'm delighted that I am able to get a few extra channels that I had not received before. I live about 35 miles south of metro Houston.I want to add that Amazon shipped everything beautifully, as mentioned above. This TV is available at other stores, but I knew that Amazon would ship the item beautifully and would help me if there were any glitches with the shipping or delivery or return, if needed.

Streaming and workflow monitor. Ideal value.
There are times when your viewing via your computer. In my case a Lenovo 17.3 inch i7 middle of the road laptop needs more screen real estate for my editing of my photos, and music. Having multiple windows open is a must, and the large 40 inch screen is perfect for my workspace as around 36 inches is as wide as I can go. The 40 inch measured diagonally of course. The Samsung here made total sense. I had a 24 inch monitor and loved it. Just too small for my workflow. Using Audacity, and my listening streaming music manager foobar 2000 is a treat. Gimp my photo editor is now so easy to get the tools and workflow on screen with space to spare.Getting my flow done, and all for less than $300.00 USD, is amazing with a name brand I trust, and true 1920 x 1080p too. Connections are standard fare. 2 HDMI, USB, Component and an antenna input. Nothing special there. What is, is how easy it all comes together for me. Following what others have a shared here settings wise, and thank you all, I am enjoying this monitor no end. What I see are vivid colors, nice sharp detail, though not out of this world scaling. My Oppo BDP-103 Blue Ray had the best scaler I have seen to date. Though my computer's graphic adapter middle of the road Nvidia is hardly awful. Quite good really.Dynamic range is good but still runs into some black crush in the dark shadow details, but hey this is not an expensive rig so what do I want. A nary of artifact thanks again to all here on settings. Failure to follow those settings is poor detail, aliasing jaggies, and motion artifacts. If you get this monitor read others reviews here for setup guidance. Of course you may vary a bit from those settings. Normal this.Though thick physically in stature, it is not overly heavy. A little less than 20 pounds. Not bad, the stand goes together with 6 screws of the self tap type. I used my bed as a large soft space to install the stand. Real easy. Power cable is a 90 degree bend making easy work of plugging in narrow AC spaces. The nice piano black finish is nice. I use Turtle Wax Ice wax and quick detailer on a micro fiber cloth to keep looking good. Any quality screen cleaner works. Never use Winder or other ammonia based cleaner. Streaks the screen badly. Monster makes on and it will last year's for one bottle.Energy sticker said about $12.00 for its energy usage. About average for the class. So in the end of my easy review, for work, and streaming or TV watching you can spend more if you want, but for less than $300.00, you should check this out. It is quite good. Thanks for reading.

Good Gaming t.v really happy.
OK so ima do this review for those who want this T.V for gaming (thats one of the main reasons why i bought it) ALSO keep in mind that i just got the T.V hooked up no more than 3 hours so ill update it with any issues or good things I find later down the road.It does NOT (as far as I can tell) have a GAME mode for display, but I played some Call of Duty AW and there doesn't seem to be any lag that requires it so PHEW. in other words it plays smooth :)there are a good amount of options to mess around with for a NON smart t.v such as changing the backlight, color, contrast, etc basically the usual. I will say that the backlight and brightness were set a little TOO high for a default as i turned them down. Now for the bad.The only real bad thing that i can think of is that the stand that the t.v sits on, to me, doesn't seem too good. Albeit as long as you just leave it in place with out moving it around all the time it would be just find. Because of that i have to bring it down a star.Like I said in the beginning I'll update this later on when something good/bad happens. if nothing happens to the stand after lets say five months ill update it to five stars cause i'm really liking this T.V :D
