Worked well
I have a LG front load washer that needed the shocks replaced. It worked well on the outer boot spring. For a DIY it is a good value

Worked for both inner and outer tub springs for LG WM0642HW/01
I was looking for a tool that would work for both the inner and outer tub springs on my LG WM0642HW washing machine so I needed a tool that could handle a range of about 2" to 5". The tool I received could expand a spring when the spring was in the tool tip notches from 2.25" closed to almost 5" fully open. Tool made the outer spring removal and installation a very easy job. Removing the inner spring was also easy with this tool but it was just a little more difficult putting it back on; it would have worked better if tool opened the full 5" where the spring is held. Packaging and workmanship of the tool was very good for something I will likely only use a few times but this tool could likely be used a lot and still work fine. Even though I had the tool, I tried installing the inner spring with vise grips once and said forget that as was not easy at all...glad I bought the tool. There were many other similar tools listed but they either had limited jaw size range or had too many bad quality feedback so this one seemed the best choice and I would buy it again. I think it would have been a really good buy if $5 less expensive.

This tool works, but you may have to expand the holes on the spring clamp
This product works for its intended purpose - it was able to remove and reattach the spring clamps on my Kenmore Elite (a rebranded LG unit) washing machine during the replacement of the front gasket. I am giving the product four stars, because it could be improved. Specifically, the front prongs are too large for the holes on the spring clamp. When I tried to put the prongs into the holes on the spring clamp, the prongs would not fit, and I had to use pliers to expand the holes slightly. Not a huge deal, but dealing with the spring clamps is the most difficult part of the gasket replacement process, so having to fidget with the holes was inconvenient.I also note that my tool looks slightly different than the one on Amazon (mine came with blue handles). It made no difference to me, and the tool still worked for its intended purpose, as explained above.

This is the one you are looking for
Someone was too rouch with the rubber gasket seal on or front load washer. I looked up how to replace it and they used a tool like this. The problem is is that not all LG washers use the same spring retainers. I bought a different version but it didn't quite open wide enough and after struggling with it and many curse words I figured something wasn't working like it should. Then I found this tool. It starts off small enough to fit both spring retainers and opens up wide enough to easily remove AND re-install them as well. And for the same price. Get this one, I'm sure it will work for and you'll be frustrated if it turns out you have the same washer as mine and you bought the more "popular" tool instead of this one.

Just what we needed
This is most likely a single-use tool that we hopefully won’t need to use again but worked just fine and was reasonably priced. Would buy again.

Very big help, but still might need an extra set of hands
Just removed and replaced the front of an LG. This AFFORDABLE tool makes getting the retaining wir for the boot off very easy and much easier getting it back on. I needed an extra set of hands to keep the wire in the rubber grooves. It took me two hands to expand an LG spring far enough, but the job is so much easier all around. Maybe if you have huge hands you can do the job by yourself. Even a child could be your helper. Ignore the negative reviews.

Remember you will need needle-nose pliers and a second person
Works great for my LG washer I replaced the seal the spring was the kind of pain in the ass so you might need some needle nose pliers to make sure the ends of the spring are bent close so the tool can hold the spring open and spread apart it's tough to get that metal loop back around the gasket so you might need to people one holding the spring opening apart and the other person guiding it on

Keeping Your Fingers Intact
Spend the money for this tool. It makes removal and install of the inner ring so much easier. Have replaced the washer seal twice now. Tip: The hole at the bottom of the seal leads to a tube that drains to the washer drum. Mine was clogged with dirt that hastened mold growth in the seal. Use a zip tie to clean out this important drain path. U can clean the old rubber seal in a bucket with water and bleach. 1:2 ratio.
