These selected blog posts are an enjoyable, fun read from a highly informed British expat who is an excellent writer and who has lived and worked in Dubai for over 25 years. Although a handful of the posts included may be overly Dubai-centric for the average reader, most of them are not, and even the Dubai-insider posts give an outsider more of a glimpse into the mysterious, "glamorous" (not) life of Dubai residents.A fair percentage of posts are on globally relevant topics, and are, like the other posts, fun and informative and insightful.This is an inexpensive read that is entertaining, and that you can start and stop and then pick up later when you feel the urge. McNabb has a gift for making the Arab world understandable to Western audiences, as his novels also demonstrate.
