I'm writing this review for those who are looking for a large carabiner. I thought I had carefully reviewed what was available on Amazon and this one was the best. Not so. The best one is, Black Diamond RockLock. The RockLock is actually just a bit larger and the quality of it is immensely better. No comparison!The Hood River carabiner is painted. The paint will chip. Reminds me of cheap gear made to "look" tactical.

Doing any climbing or sitting in a deer stand. These things are the best on the market to keep you safely secured in the stand. Nothing cheap about these. I keep one on my line up in the tree. One to my harness on me. I clip on once up in the tree. Knowing I am now securely fastened safely! I can concentrate on my hunting.

I have used these multiple times so far with rigging of ropes and slings and have brought down antennas and radios and complete booms and haven't had 1 open up on me. These are legit triple locking carabiners that are ANSI rated at 5,000lbs

I bought these to secure a boat during hunting season. Waterfowl hunting. They are definitely the best I have found for the price.For me, I just need to see how they work in freezing weather.

I use these large carabiners to prevent those wide exercise bands from bunching up at the connection of this carabiner and resistance band handle.
