Modification for Forteo
Cooler is very attractive and compact. I modified it slightly to hold my Forteo pen. I removed the center stitching and the stitching on the short side. This allows for a large area, underneath which the pen can rest. I put two self-adhesive Velcro "dots" in place to hold the material firmly over the pen.You DON'T want to use the case for Forteo unmodified: the partitions are too tight to insert the pen and you might pull off the cap or the priming barrel when removing it.UPDATED 10/15/17I froze the gel packs ovenight, placed them in the cooler, then put a digital thermometer probe in the place where medicine goes. The temperature rose gradually to room temp. in six hours. Since I'm going to be on a plane for 12 hours and since the cooler is too small to accept an ice bag, it won't work for my intentions. Should work great for shorter trips.

If you're just going on a quick jaunt...
...then this is not bad. If you're going on an extended trip where your travel time will be a bit longer, then you will probably need to make other arrangements. The manufacturer suggests that you not use it for longer than 6-8 hours while noting some people have suggested it will keep your meds cooler for over 8 hours. This is going to be highly variable and depend on the environment. I felt like 6 hours was stretching it based on my experience travelling internationally - luggage check-in, security, waiting to board, luggage pick-up, etc.Outside of this timeframe the product works as described and in my case did better than I expected as it held three pens - although rather tightly packed in with the needle tips, ice packs, etc.

Took this on a cross-country flight from Oregon to Florida ...
Took this on a cross-country flight from Oregon to Florida and it worked for the most part and was able to keep the medicine cold until I could put it into a refrigerator at the hotel. However, my medicine could go up to 24 hours without refrigeration before it started to degrade so it wasn't critical to keep ice cold. Normally I would guess if the included ice packs are completely frozen when inserted it would keep your meds refrigerator cold for 4-5 hours if left sitting out on a counter in a 70 degree room. Stuck in a hot car would not last that long. With that said, on our return flight from Florida to Oregon I packed it into my check-in luggage and when I got home the ice packs still had a bit of freeze left in them, and it had been nearly 13 hours. Keeping it in the insulated bowels of the aircraft I'm sure helped this a lot.

Does what it needs to do
Temp gage is different than pictured, reads both degrees F and C. Holds 2-3 insulin pens, up to 3 insulin vials safely, a few syringes, some pen needles, and another 1-2 small necessary items. Fits a check register perfectly to keep track. Protects supplies well inside a fully stuffed backpack. Included blue freezer packs don’t stay frozen very long but the whole cooler bag keeps insulin cool enough, keeps temperature stable, keeps supplies safe - keeping insulin stable is more important than keeping it cold.

Great kit, would recommend to everyone.
This insulin cold pack-kit stays cold for a very long time. My freezers temp is roughly 4 degrees Fahrenheit. I experimented with it and took it out around 3PM and the ambient temperature was around 75 degrees Fahrenheit. From 3PM to 8PM the temperature had increased from 4 deg. F to 64 deg. F (60 degrees F total) - roughly 11 degrees lower than the ambient air temp. Thats a12 degree increase per hour. I bought a Govee bluetooth thermometer to keep in the insulin kit permanently. It's a great little bluetooth thermometer. You can set a minimum temp alarm and a max alarm on the app. I am in a southern state that gets into the hundreds in the spring & summer. I don't trust the temp strip that it came with. Plus, every time you open it up to check the temp, it's getting warmed up just a bit. I bought two extra cold packs that I'm going to put in the kit for a total of four. Add a little fiberglass inbetween the pack and case and it should stay gold longer. Here's a graph of the temperature increase.

Cool blue insulin case
I bought a larger pack but it was way too big. This case holds my insulin vial and several syringes. It came with 2 cooling packs and during the hot summer months I don't have to worry about my insulin going bad from the heat.

Temperature display does not work
I'm traveling to Asia and needed something to keep my insulin cool while traveling. I tested the pack and it does keep everything cool for a t least 8 hours. There are numerous packs out there but I chose this is because of the temperature display but somehow, the one thing I like about this doesn't work. I've been using for two days now and have not seen the temperature display work at all. I'm leaving in a few days to a replacement is not going to work unless it was sent overnight.

Great product
Worked great on a recent trip where I traveled by plane. It kept my medication cold until I got to the hotel and put it in the refrigerator.
