I went to try one of the cookie recipes I was dying to try, Garam Masala Cookies, and it was a total fail. I went over the ingredients over and over. Maybe because I'm used to using weights, even being in the US. Pretty sure that is why. Hoping I have better luck with the rest. I fiddled with the ingredients and I was able to save them, and they taste amazing now

More than I happily bargained for.
Wow! They left no stone uncovered when they ventured out to do this cook book. To be honest, I bought this book for 1 simple recipe. Puff Pastry. I consider myself a somewhat accomplished baker in the world of wheat, but the world of Gluten Free (Not to mention adding Vegan into the fray) changes the playing field & presents it's own challenges as you probably very well know. I was duly impressed, as I sifted through the book. (It just arrived!!!) I will be contacting the author on a question I have concerning technique in her puff pastry as it seems to be missing a piece of the normal construction. Of course this may be different. But before wasting time, $,&, ingredients I shall check on this. Even if it is as I suspect, for me it's an easy fix & a notation in the recipe. This book is still a great book. The ingredients are basic & straight forward as far as Gluten Free goes. She, so far to my eyes, hasn't got you going to Zimbabwe for some crazy exotic ingredients, & the recipes make sense. Anyone dealing with GF dietary food issues will probably appreciate this book especially when longing for a bit of comfort food & something delectable.Allyson Kramer goes even further with a key system denoting if the recipe is Soy free, nut free, corn free, &/or bean free. She goes over different flours, sweeteners etc.The Novice will appreciate her thorough approach as well as others who can skip over what they don't need & go straight to baking. I think I am going to really enjoy this book & will have trouble getting it back once it gets lent out.

Amazing recipes!
I am so impressed with this cookbook so far! It really makes delicious, gluten-free, vegan desserts possible and takes the guesswork out of it all! I've made: the Pumpkin Pecan Cheesecake, the Snickerdoodles and Ginger Snapper cookies, the Chocolate Silk Pie with the Sweetened Whipped Coconut Cream topping, and the Banana Bread. They have all turned out well and wonderfully delicious! I feel pretty confident that any recipe in this book would be great!

I have a question about a recipe.
I just bought the book and have a question about the Madeleine. My texture is perfect but the cookie has a bitter aftertaste, which I don't understand. I weigh all ingredients and purchased them from the recommended sources. I have baking for several years and am just getting used to GF-V baking. I have been using a commercial made GF flour but thought I would follow the book. I wanted to ask the author but cant seem to find a way to send a message direct

Just what I was looking for!
Great cookbook for those who are vegan/gluten free (like me) or just looking to avoid things like gluten and dairy which can irritate the digestive system. Nice variety of different desserts. In my experience, the recipes are generally uncomplicated and call for ingredients that are not particularly difficult to obtain (common gluten free baking ingredients). I love the Vanilla Bean Pound Cake! Can't wait to try out many of the other recipes.

Great cookbook! There is a really extensive substitutions guide in the beginning with all different kinds of egg substitutions, dairy substitutions, and flour substitutions as well as advice on when to use specific substitutions. Great recipes too, and it's really easy to substitute ingredients too, if you have any additional food allergies such as soy, nuts, etc.

Lovely Book
Beautiful in its layout and content. Very unique desserts one would not expect to be vegan. Can't wait to try them all!

Yes! Fills a need!
THIS BOOK IS NUTS! I'm buying it for all of my GF friends, vegan or no. All of the basics are covered and beautifully tested. I've made several of the basic items this week in preparation for many vegan holiday guests, and everything turned out amazing. Thank you so much for this!

A great GF, vegan cookbook!
The recipes are very tasty, made with ingredients many GF bakers would have on hand, and easy to make. We have really enjoyed each recipe that we've tried so far.

Me gusta mucho el libro tiene bastantes recetas de bases para la repostería vegana. Podrían sacar una versión en español.
