One K Unisex Defender Protective Riding Helmet, Brown Matte, Medium

Let me start off by saying I did need to return this helmet due to fit, but the quality of the product is superior.I have never been stuck in the excessively round or oval shaped vortex, so traditionally a 7 1/4” helmet just fits. In most other brands, that equates to a "large".These helmets are amazingly round. So much so, that the large puts a tremendous amount of pressure across my forehead, even with all the padding.Because I was determined to support this brand because of their quality, the low profile appearance, and the variety of colors that are offered, I ended up ordering an extra large helmet, and then a large size replacement liner. That combination works out perfectly for me with my fairly "normal shaped", 7 1/4” head.(The long oval, on the other hand, was excessively "oval", leaving far too much room across the forehead.)

I cannot recommend this helmet enough. It has protected and kept my head uninjured in two very dangerous falls. In March 2020 I got bucked off and hit my head quite hard on the ground, I also broke my wrist as a result. Thankfully, I walked away with my head in place uninjured, the helmet DIDN'T EVEN DENT. My second fall came in August 2020 at Wellington when my horses' two front legs fells through an oxer, I flipped over his head and fell on my back onto the jump. Again, I hit the back of my head on the floor. I walked away unscaved and very thankful to my helmet, which was still intact. These two falls had a lot of potential to be extremely damaging to my head - I am beyond thankful I had this helmet and will continue to buy One Ks! This helmet is also very comfortable, fits well, has AWESOME ventilation (a must if you ride in the heat yearly) and has a sleek design.

Love the styling and venting, but fit runs large for my small round head. I was looking for a matte helmet for everyday schooling and hoped this would be a good substitute for the Samshield ShadowMatt.. but it wasn't. One K helmets only come in 2 shell sizes; s/m and l/xl (vs S,M,L), and like most, the fit is adjusted with the liners. For me, the size difference was too great for the helmet to fit properly. The small helmet with small liner was too deep and fell off when tipping my head over, while the chin strap was so short it barely fit fully extended. I could have stuffed it with 2 liners, but it felt unsafe and hollow in comparison to my sturdy Trauma Void EQ3 or the Samshield helmets. For reference; I'm 5'4" 128 lbs and my Trauma Void sizes are 57 with thick liner and 56 with thin liner, Samshield size 55 with a 6 7/8 liner. The Samshield is twice the price and feels much safer, while the Trauma Void EQ3 is similar in price but actually fits and feels the safest, like an $800+ helmet.***Always wear a properly fitting helmet, your head is worth it!

Bought this to replace a Samshield and was skeptical because it was 1/2 the price. Pleasantly surprised. Looks great. Fits my head better than the Samshield. Great ventilation. Will buy again

I ordered this helmet because I was able to order an oblong style and those have always looked better on me in the past, but the fit of this helmet was very round. It looked like I had a bucket on my head. I ended up returning this and ordering an IRH instead, which was $100 less expensive and, despite no oblong styles, fit far better and more attractive. Disappointing.

I love my OneK’s! I have brown for western and black for English. Light, well fitted, I love the Long Oval, nice profile - absolutely my favorite helmet and I’ve tried several!

I Love this helmet - I started with the black matte because of the price and it looks like the Sam Shield but half the price and it fit so well. I got the suede too for showing and decided to get the Navy OneK for doing jumpers and XC. I have a CO for showing and I liked the fit but I liked the fit and the way it keeps me a bit cooler on the hot muggy MD summers.

Great helmet -- stylish, comfortable and not too hot. However, the faux suede harness bleeds really badly and after each ride my face is stained deep black on both sides.

Very comfortable / fits well / looks great / quality helmet. I love it!!
