Lamson 40150 Trade Tools 1-1/8" Glazier's Knife, Angle 35-Stiff, Stainless Steel, Maple Handle

I'm not a professional glazier by any stretch of the imagination but I used this Lamson Glazier's knife to make 34 storm windows for my house, and I became much more proficient after about window 10. I started the project using a Red Devil glazier's knife, but the thickness of the metal and the plastic handle felt cheap. I'm a blade maker on the side so I appreciate a tool with thick, high quality steel.My only complaint is that the tool comes with the metal and wood not ground flush around the edges. This little indent is a collector of glazing compound and I like to keep my tools clean. Since I have a nice grinder for my knives, I just ground it off flush the whole way around (see photo). Also, the lanyard hole has a brass ring inside that should be flush with the face of the tool because it also becomes a collector of glazing compound.

You know you're a stud when the guy and crew installing glazing your 6'x8' picture window is coveting your glazier's knife that you are using to install and glaze new glass in all the other windows in your house yourself.

Makes the glazing job nice and smooth.

This has made the in place antique multi windowpane window restoration so much easier and faster. So glad I took the chance and got it.

I use it for tooling caulking and being a Glazier we do a lot of it. It works really well and does what I want it to do 👍
