These are the BEST lentils. I make soup - google Chef John's Black Lentil Soup recipe. It's fabulous. I make mine vegan, just using olive oil, leave out the bacon, and at the end I add a couple of cups of organic spinach to wilt. GREAT dish. Enjoy!

I started buying Organic Black Beluga Lentils in August 2015. Since then they have been my favorite lentils and I have not stopped buying them. I do not waste my time buying others in the supermarket. Beluga lentils have an exquisite flavor and texture. A few cloves of garlic, chopped onions, a little cumin, all sautéed in olive oil ... I can assure you that a plate of them alone has everything you need for a good nutrition at the end of a long day of work.Apart from that, whenever I place the order of Organic Black Beluga Lentils, I receive them in perfect packaging and on time.Thank you for allowing me to discover them. High Quality and very tasty!
These are excellent quality and very tasty! I made these for thanksgiving and the family was impressed with how great they tasted! Will definitely be ordering them here from now on! My recipe is as follows: Sautee small white onion and 1 pod of garlic finely chopped in olive oil, add sliced mushrooms (I use baby portebello--1 small bag) and season with salt, pepper, cracked rosemary and a little Slap Ya Mama cajun seasoning. When the mushrooms are soft and cooked I add 3 cups of chicken stock and the lentils and bring it to a boil and then turn it down to a simmer and set the timer for 20-30 minutes. When the lentils are cooked I add a little more Slap Ya Mama cajun seasoning and they are ready! Enjoy!!

Perfect lentils for soup
These black lentils are awesome. They make the best soup because they hold their shape when cooked tender, producing an amazing hearty-yet-light texture and stunning black caviar appearance. Compared to other varieties of lentils, they are higher in fiber, lower is starch, and highest in antioxidants, so the nutrition is stellar as well.

Love these lentils!
I love these lentils, they turn into a luscious hummus (my favorite is a beet and lentil hummus from Vegetarian times. [...]) I use my home grown and pickled beets in the recipe. They are a great addition to stews or salads too! Love 'em!

Not the ones I was looking for.
I ordered these because I thought that they were the same as the ones I had in CAVE RESTAURANT. I even asked the manager and he said that the ones they used were Black Beluga Lentils from Montana so I ordered these. They are not at all the same. Not bad but not the same as the ones from the restaurant. Their’s were BLACK when cooked and Larger. They are tiny and cook up sort of Grey.

The Harvest Gold lentils are delicious! They have a mild, almost nutty flavor that goes well with nearly anything. The lentils cook quickly too. I cook them, return them to the pot, and then season them with a bit of butter, olive oil, milk, cumin, paprika, salt, tiny amount of sugar, and curry. I will be purchasing these for a long time. I am especially pleased that these are grown in the USA on a family farm. Fantastic!

Delicious organic lentils!
I recently purchased these and have used them in a lentil salad recipe, along with broiled salmon. They're organic, delicious and a nice change from the French green lentils that I've been using. I plan to seek out more recipes calling specifically for beluga lentils to put them to their best use and will definitely be ordering more!
