Hypnotherapy: 8601200434323: Medicine & Health Science Books @ desertcart.com Review: A Classic Hypnotherapy Text - I was a bit put off by the high price of this book, but it was definitely worth the read. For anyone interested in the possibilities of hypnosis for modern medicine and dentistry, this book is a must-read. Dave Elman was a master hypnotherapist, teaching physicians, dentists and psychologists back in the 1950s how to do what they should already have been taught in their training. This book is full of stories, examples and dialogues with clients that demonstrate his ability to work successfully with a stunning array of people. It is truly amazing that it has taken over 50 years since his work in order for hypnosis to begin emerging as the tool for personal transformation that it is. Although the history of hypnosis is much older that that, it has long suffered the indignity of scorn by those who don't understand it, fear it or simply believe it can't really work. The book gives examples of induction methods, including what is now called the classic "Dave Elman Induction", as well as the use of hypnosis in dozens of physical and mental conditions. Since these uses are reserved today only for licensed professionals, and since licensed professionals usually shy away from or shun anything that is not considered mainstream, hypnosis is most often used today for behavior modification issues, such as weight loss or smoking cessation. Yet this book is still valuable to the non-professional, as it demonstrates to the reader the tremendous ability of the mind to control physical experience, habit patterns and emotional reactions. Although this book is fascinating, without the guidance of a live instructor it cannot really be used as a practical learning tool. Although it seems there is almost nothing Dave Elman can't handle successfully with hypnosis, the reader may be left feeling a bit inadequate, as his physician students often did, when trying to duplicate his efforts. Obviously there is a lot to be said for intuitive skill in this area. Review: Indepth and a must read from an authority on Hypnosis. - A very simple read, but also an indepth look at hypnosis from an expert in the field. This book is a lifetime of experience, wrapped into one book. I highly reccomend this book.

THE Reference since 1964
If you are into hypnosis and hypnotherapy, this is a must read. Elman understood like no one else that Regress to Cause is the most efficient, goal and result oriented approach to helping people. He was a task master in the Regress to Cause philosophy. Much unlike other approaches, his kind of work is repeatable, it's a process and easy to learn. You do not have to be a genius in story telling, but much rather follow a process that leads you to successful interventions. This book has so many insights, it should be mandatory reading. I can only recommend it.

Reading it a second time
I loved this book and am reading through it a second time so I can take notes. Elman shares his wisdom and advice for everything from somnambulism to the Elsdaile state. He also offers a chapter each on common health problems, ranging from allergies to phobias to sleep problems. It's funny to read a book written in the 60s, because you can see how far we've come as far as queer and women's liberation. Totally great book!

Excellent book of medical examples.
Hypnotherapy - by Dave Elman This is an incredible book that guides you through various sessions with medical professionals and patients. Each case is described in detail and written in such a way that when you start reading, you just don't want to put the book down. If you are just starting in hypnosis or are a master hypnotist, this is a must have for your library of reference materials.

A Very Good Read for beginner or moderately experienced hypnotherapist
A must read for those interested in Hypnotherapy. Seems a little outdated in language but it has very useful information and would be helpful for the beginner or someone with experience.

Forget everything you have ever learnt about hypnosis and read this book!
The most exciting book on hypnosis I have ever read! I wish I had come across this book when I first began to study hypnosis. I feel like everything else I have ever learned about hypnosis is only half truths and ego tripping compared to this. This is the real deal - forget everything else you have ever learnt about hypnosis as you read this book - you will finally understand exactly what hypnosis is and how simple it really is to use it. You will be an incredible hypnotist if you do!

An excellent book! This was written by Dave Elman who specialised in training Doctors and Dentists in hypnosis over the course of 17 years making him the best known and most successful teacher of hypnosis in the USA. He only wrote one book and this is it. It was the textbook for his medical hypnosis course. Written in plain, down to earth language I highly recommend it.

livre de très bonne qualité. Couverture rigide. "A l'ancienne". Livre commandé dimanche, reçu lundi matin avant 8 h 30 ! Quelle logistique ! - - - Super contenu. Merci Dave.
