Portable alternative to full size Echo
Spent a few days so far with this dock. Have Google Home, Home Minis, full sized Echo and Echo Dots, along with numerous portable Bluetooth speakers. Overall its sound at comparable db is fuller than Echo or Home with richer base & lows. It can get louder than either Echo or Home, however with some base heavy music around 85-90% it sometimes gets a little distorted. Still, whole different level of quality vs. the Echo Dot by itself, and a little better audio quality than the full sized Echo.Wasn't able to fully test battery life, but it did make it a solid 6 hours with still 2 lights on batter indicator so likely had another couple hours. Build quality was better than expected. Really nice plastic & rubber, and the cloth outside looks great. All in all, it + a Dot is roughly the same cost as a full size Echo (or maybe a little less), but better audio and PORTABLE. If you already have a Dot this is a great way to enhance the audio experience, with the added benefit of portability.

Clean crisp sound. About as good as my echo plus 2nd gen.
Update I've had it almost 2 months now. Still works like day one and battery life is still very good. I take back my comment about it being on pat with my echo plus. It's better. Lol. I did comparisons again and again and I seem to come to the same conclusion. Sounds better, more crisp, and clear than the echo plus. Happy customer.I've only had it for 2 days but I think I'll be a satisfied customer. Already very happy with this speaker. I mostly keep it plugged in so I can't say much about battery life, but I had it on full blast for over 2 hours the other day and it didn't die. For some reason I expected the dot to sit flush on top of the speaker, but it doesn't. But, it's ok because I am rating this speaker based on sound quality and I am happy with it. The sound is crisp and clear and the Bass sounds good even turned all the way up. I haven't had any crackling noises so far. The sound is almost on par with my echo plus 2nd gen if not right there with it.I am a real music junkie and like my music pretty loud if that says anything. This speaker does the job. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Aesthetically pleasing design, mediocre sound quality. Definitely not worth the $50 price tag.
4/4/19 - So the speaker decided to stop working on me. It wont turn on or hold a charge. So reliability is also a major flaw along with the sound quality.I bought this speaker because I wanted to breathe new life into my 2nd generation echo dots. When I open the package I was blown away buy the nice build quality and beautiful fabric design. However that's where my praises end. I personally didn't extensively test the battery of this device, since I didn't keep it for long. For that reason I will not comment on the battery life. The sound quality and aesthetics is what I will be focused on. I primarily bought this so I could have a compact speaker attached to the dot without adding too much bulk. The overall size roughly the size of the 2nd gen echo plus, maybe a little bit thicker. I guess the overall compact design didn't leave much room for better speakers, because the sound quality of the the device was rather underwhelming. It's definitely a step up from the base echo dot 2nd gen. It is louder, clearer, and a little bit more bass. In comparison to my other smart speakers and bluetooth speakers, it quite mediocre in terms of bass response. I my opinion even the 3rd generation echo dot has more bass than this device. It's simply a louder version of the 2nd gen echo dot sound with not much improvements. Overall I don't think its, worth the $50 price tag due to the average sound quality.

Dot improvement
The Dot was nice, works like it should, but pretty crappy when it comes to music, so I got one of these baby's. I like it. I mean I'm sure there are better sounding portable Bluetooth speakers out there, but I wanted that darn Dot to sound better. Charged it up stuck the Dot in it, held the button and away we went. Now this thing can go from room to room if needed. Sounds much better. It looks nice also. Not going to go into a whole shpeel about this thing it's all in your own ears how you will like it.July 8thSo all of the sudden the speaker will not charge, one blue light will illuminated and that's it. Now before I criticized the speaker I'm going to try everything I can to try not to beat the heck out of this thing, because I actually like it. I will try the cords and cube going into the plug in wall. I hope I do not become part of the 1 star group. Stay tuned.April 15 2020Not sure what’s happening and heard nothing from last review. Oh well not going to give this anymore attention. Just wish it worked. It’s been a bit since last update, but being I’m stuck in house I figured I would go through a few items we purchased. That’s it.

Great Sound Quality but it doesn't work for too long...
Purchased June 2019.. Love the sound, look and ease of the speaker but fast forward to January 2021 and it no longer holds a charge.. time to get a new one.... I know things don't live forever but the $20 speaker my daughter bought has outlasted this one by far...

Portability and battery life are the key -- until the battery goes
Portability and battery life are the key reasons I just bought a second one of these. I got the first one to use on the deck when I don't want to use the outdoor speakers from the stereo. The new one will go for the deck off my bedroom for morning coffee. I find that the sound is more than adequate for talk radio or podcasts or "background" music, but like I said, the portability (normally kept in the living room and now my bedroom) and the fact that it will keep a charge for a good 8-10 hours is more than reason enough to buy a second.Addendum [02/24/2020]: the one I bought on March 1, 2019, lost all ability to hold a charge and fried the Echo Dot that was attached to it. I dropped the rating from 5 to 3 stars.
