BUY THIS BOOK
As another reviewer has said, do not pass go and get this book. I have a child on the spectrum with EF challenges and when I read the description of the kind of child that this book is meant to help, I felt like someone must have videotaped my son for inspiration. It’s spot on. The inflexibility, the need for constant prompts, getting distracted my random things and then forgetting what the kid wanted to do - it’s literally our life every day. This book has concrete, ready to use strategies, organized in a simple and coherent way. I have read a ton of books on autism and ADHD and this is by far the biggest winner. Get this. Read it. You won’t regret it.

Very practical!
This book was well written and well organized. Although I purchased the book to help a mildly autistic child, I found the material applicable to children and adults in general who have difficulty staying on track. Excellent book.

Buy this book....buy this book!
This is the most helpful book I have ever read on this subject. It offers flexibility in use and immediately, on page 3, there is Table A, which "will help you decide where in this book to start in order to meet your needs." A major help in getting to the information I wanted right away! There is a plethora of easy to implement strategies in all areas of ASD special needs, easy to understand information throughout which is so important for a parent, ideas to consider when writing an IEP, a special Goal Plan Do Check format that makes so much sense, and so much more. I have read many, many books and have never been so impressed with the content and value that this book gives. Be sure to get this "parent" book and not the teacher edition.

Awesome book - very helpful with explicit examples and support ideas. I have been a teacher of students on the spectrum for over 15 years and with the dozens of specific examples and sample IEP goals it has been a wonderful resource I use daily in my classroom.

Love the breakdown, and the scripts.
The authors have done an excellent job of distilling the complexities of executive dysfunction down to a few core concepts. The provision of a prescribed vocabulary to be used as key phrases and cues is essential. Like Michelle Garcia Winner's social thinking vocabulary, this provides explicit language for verbally teaching processes that are usually learned implicitly and non-verbally.
