Pricey, but easily best in class.
Pros:Attractive design.Perfect fit.Unobtrusive.Protective.Long lasting battery.Seamless charging and portability.Built in charge status LEDs.Color matched to Chalk GH Mini.Makes the GH Mini fully portable when connected to your phone via WiFi HotSpot.Cons:Somewhat pricey, considering the GH Mini itself can often be found for under $30.Takes a long time to charge back up, so keep it plugged in when not used portably.Does not add an Audio Out jack, which would’ve made this perfect.

Battery lights never turn off
Update: the company got back to me, and although it seems like it's one piece the rubber can be separated from the plastic, and you can add tape to the LEDs from the inside. FYI if you do remove the rubber, don't pull it off all the way, just enough to access the LEDs, if you pull it off like I did, it's going to take a bit of massaging to get it back lines up. The light is way dimmer now. Although I still think on the next revision they should just have the lights shut off after a few seconds. The dock is great, the color matches Google home and build quality feels solid. The battery once fully charge will last you about the whole day with moderate use, I assume if you leave it playing music you'll probably get less battery life out of it. The CONS... it takes forever to charge, the device does not come with it's own charger, you have to use the home mini power adapter to charge the device, I wonder if a more powerful adapter was provided if it would charge faster, if you want to minimize charge time it's best to turn the home mini off. You lose access to the mute button. Worst of all the battery indicator lights never turn off, I remedy this by putting a piece of tape over it.Overall it's a great dock, very useful if you need to take your Google home from one room to let's say the bathroom, where power is limited, but considering this is almost the same price as the Google home, I'm on the fence if I should just buy another Google home, instead not carrying around the one.

Works great after initialization...
I don't think it is written in the instructions, but if you are using this with a brand new Google Home Mini like I was doing, you have to initialize the Google Home Mini first with the regular plug before using this product. After I initialized and setup the Home Mini, I was then able to plug it into this KIWI Portable battery and it works great so far...still need to test how long it lasts, etc, etc. but good start so far. Will update this review sometime down the line.

LOVE my Kiwi Google Mini Battery Base!
I just got my Kiwi Google Mini battery base and I absolutely LOVE it! Easy to install (just plug in - fits perfectly!), then plug back into the Google wall charger cable! And since I leave my Mini outside on my porch, the rubberized part of the Kiwi battery base actually works like a case to protect the bottom part of my Mini from dust and humidity when it rains! Best part of all - I can leave it plugged in to charge all the time, and then when I have friends over to sit around the firepit in the back yard, I can just unplug the Mini and battery base from the cable and take it into the back yard or the garage or wherever I am in the house without disconnecting it from the network! I LOVE it and highly recommend it to all Google Home Mini lovers!

It basically works. altho I think the battery is faulty. Makes it lame for a battery base?
The good - it seems to pretty much work as advertised. Pretty much. The Home Mini is easy to install to the device, and the power button on the battery pack allows you to turn the mini off if it becomes necessary. This adds portability to your Mini - if that's what you want. I've had it run for over 8 hours at volume 3 before, and it seemed to be fine, still showing 2 dots on the 4 dot power display - although that certainly doesn't mean much, especially after you read exactly what power levels each successive dot indicates. The power indicator dots are a bit dim, but then again, they don't need to be bright. The bad... takes forever to charge, especially compared to the battery base on my Echo 2. The 4th power dot doesn't usually ever stop blinking - showing that it's still trying for a full charge after 2 days, even. Once in a great while it'll stop, and indicate a full charge. I'm guessing maybe the battery is faulty and won't even hold a full charge to begin with? 2 days or more to reach full charge seems excessive for anything.

SIMPLICITY AT IT'S FINEST!
A couple of years ago a friend gave me a Google Home Mini for my birthday. There wasn't much tech in my house to justify using the Mini regularly. I love technology - but I did n't have smart lights, smart thermostat, etc. I love Google Assistant, and use it mostly when I'm on the go. I plugged the Mini in my living room, but never used it. So I packed it back up.Recently I saw the KIWI in a tech video and thought: "Such a great idea!" I ordered it, and dug-up the Mini from my closet, and dusted it off. The Kiwi and the Mini attach beautifully. Has such a sleek and compact design. Really good build and weight to it. And now the Mini doubles as a wireless speaker. I'm able to take it from room to room and listen to my playlists. Also leave it at my bedside as an alarm clock. Because of the portability, it now makes me want to use it more for smart home functionality, and possible buy another Mini & Kiwi.*UPDATE - Aug 6/19*: I had to change my rating. I don't use this product very often. After not using it for maybe 3-4 wks, I took it out and played with it. Made sure to charge it. I think the battery is damaged? It doesn't seem to hold a charge after charging it. Then I noticed, with 4 LED light battery indicator (while charging): the first light would be solid, and the second light would flash for hours. Then I would unplug, and it would deplete within the hour. Then I would charge it again. and the first 3 lights will go solid and the 4th light will flash. Please advise? Would you offer a replacement?

UPDATE: Kiwi rocks!
This worked fabulously all summer. We spent most of our time on the deck and this came in real handy while we entertained friends. I even recommended it to many of them. Then it stopped working a couple of days ago. I think there's an issue with the connection between this device and the Google mini. The device looks fully charged. It just won't connect and power the Google mini :(UPDATE: Kiwi's customer service is truly amazing. Despite it being past the return date allowance, they offered to replace my base. They've even followed up to see how it is working. I'm beyond impressed with their service and will certainly recommend them to everyone. Thank you Kiwi! This product really is fantastic. It expands the use of our Google mini beyond the confines of our house. Sometimes cables malfunction. That's probably what happened to our original purchase. But knowing you're backed with great customer service, you can feel confident with your purchase :)

Convert your Google Mini to a bluetooth speaker
The media could not be loaded. Some room in my house don't have the plug point in an open visible area, so placing a google mini in these rooms is a bit of a challenge to ensure your voice is heard. This seemed like a good solution. What you may like1. excellent build quality, the rubberized material feels strong and is non slippery on surfaces2. well designed so the mini fits snugly and is connected with the little micro USB cable3. Easy to place anywhere in the room4. Long battery life, can work as a speaker continuously for at least six hours5. can work as a wireless Bluetooth speaker, so great for camping etc. What you may not like1. Takes a long time to chargeOverall, if you don't want to deal with wires, or need a Bluetooth speaker, this works great.

I've been waiting for this, Google Home is now portable.
Great battery for making the Google Home mini portable! It has a power button on the back so it doesn't have to be always on and there are 4 battery indicator lights letting you know how much charge is left. This Kiwi battery had 3 of 4 for battery charge right out of the box and it ran my Google home mini for 8 hours before dropping to 2.One of my Google Home minis I use out in the backyard, usually around the pool. Up 'till now I've been using a portable battery (one of the ones I have to charge my phones on the go as well), that setup worked well but is rather clunky when carrying them out to the pool. Now with this Kiwi Battery I can pull the mini out of the drawer, hit the power button and take it outside. I use this "Pool" mini as the remote to play music and control the volume on my Chromecast Audio which is connected to large speakers out in the backyard, as such the mini is in standby most of the time and not using much power. I'll need experiment a bit more but I'd say this battery should last at least a couple days with my usage.Very happy with this purchase.

Kiwi does it again!
The media could not be loaded. I already own the kiwi branded google hone mini wall mount and because I love it so much, I decided to buy this to make my Google home mini even more portable.Like other Kiwi products, the packaging was very nice with good quality materials. Everything is well protected in the unit itself has a nice weight and does not feel cheap at all. Out of the box, it was very easy to set up. Plug your home mini into the battery pack and pop it into the “bowl”. Then using your Google Home power plug plug it into the battery and charge it. Mine only took about one hour to charge and then it was ready to use. I have not had it long enough to know how long it will last with each charge. I plan on using this when I sit outside when I am gardening and I can stream music. The unit itself is very well protected in the battery pack and in fact, looks like it actually came together. This would make a great gift and I’m actually thinking of taking it with me on my next vacation!
