I received the book in a timely manner and it's in good condition. The only weird thing was before I received the book the seller contacted me. They said a family member accidentally put it for sale when it was a rental. They wanted it back at first but then they changed their mind because it was too much of a hassle. It was odd.

This book was meant to be friendly, but frankly, it just overwhelmed and terrified me. I had thoughts like, "I can never be a school counselor" and "I don't want to be a school counselor" when reading it. I don't think that was the intention.I admit school counseling might not be "for the faint of heart," but we also don't want to scare people away from it. The intent of this book, I believe, was to ease people in, not frighten them. However, for me, it did the latter. It's dense, packed with a boggling amount of information. It just made me feel inadequate, like I did not know enough to so much as even go into practicum. The ASCA National Model itself too is overwhelming. There has to be a friendlier, easier way to educate newcomers rather than this "trial by fire."

Good overview of need-to-know information in the school counseling field! The in depth detail helps you to learn all you need to know in organizing comprehensive school counseling programs.

Well written with good examples. Not too wordy. Some repot ion from other required books for me, but at least restated well and in a different way
